Two Ohio sanitation workers escaped serious injury from an explosion in the back of a garbage truck this week.

The dramatic blast and its aftermath was caught on camera. Footage shows the two-man crew emptying blue waste bins into the back of their truck in Whitehall, outside Columbus. Just as one of the workers steps back, a large explosion rattles the truck and sends trash flying.

«@Bellybutton I was a garbage man for two years back in the 70s that was before they had these plastic carts, they had 30 gallon metal garbage cans. We had to go back behind their houses and pick them up and haul them back to the truck, there was no curbside service. some of the shit they put those cans. car transmissions, maggots galore, picking up trash at the local veterinary clinics dead dogs and cats, dead sheep and calfs, during hunting season you open the lid there would be deer head staring back at you. But my favorite was the slaughterhouse and rendering plant! Oh, it was fun.
