The dog is barking and 80% there, when the owner jumps out of the truck with his hand up. He only starts to run after the shots are fired. This clip is missing some footage at the beginning. The guy is seeing as his kid being handed to him, in all he never stopped looking in that direction.

«Had the same thing happen to me, minus the kid, in N. Minneapolis. Get out of my truck and a pit comes runnin' at me from down the street, owner nowhere in sight. I see the dog from 40 yards away and she's not acting aggressive but she is a pit and she is runnin' right at me at a good clip. In the moment I just squared myself up with her and prepared for the worst. Fortunately it didn't go down like that and she was just a sweetie comin' up to say hi.»
