A man died on Monday night (8) in Joinville, in the North of Santa Catarina , after clashing with the PM (Military Police). The incident took place in the Zona Industrial Norte neighborhood, around 11:20 pm

According to the police report, the 34-year-old man had set fire to a car and fled. When the police found him, he hid behind a pole, putting his hand on his waist.

After firing the non-lethal weapon, the suspect attacked one of the police officers. The officer then fired a shot to prevent the attack, and the man ended up dying in the hospital.

«@BlackRoseBean Brazilian police uses hollow point .40 rounds. Those are known for the highly stopping power and lower penetration Power. The purpose is being able to neutralize the target as fast as possible and reduce the chances of killing them at the same time. The holow point has a Gap on its point which holds a kind of Air bubble at high speed. Its equivalent to a big Hammer hitting you.»

«@Coldzz I carry 147 grain HSTs in my EDC, I'm aware of their uses... and your description is not really close to what they do at all. Hollows definitely have higher stopping power but in no way are they meant to lessen the chances of killing the target. Rounds are designed to be a deadly force unless theyre made of rubber/cloth. They actually cause even more of a horrific wound than regular FMJs or non-hollow-point rounds. Almost all types of them even increase the wound cavity size and also add massive lacerations throughout the path of travel (look at the expansion photos of my bullets for example: Federal Premium 147 grain 9mm HST)

You see that expansion and believe it's designed to lessen the chance of death? No, they're designed to try and NOT go through your target and kill your neighbor. But very much also designed to increase bleeding and overall damage.

«@Coldzz My main point is that I'm sort of fascinated that a round was able to completely break his fucken arm bone like that lol. Not surprising when they can go through cars though»
