By now it is evident that drug overdose deaths increased substantially in 2020 due to a variety of issues surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. However, in Columbus, Ohio, overdose deaths increased at a noticeably greater rate than in the rest of the country.

The state of Ohio is no stranger to substance abuse problems. Historically, both prescription and illicit opioids have flooded the state, including in the Columbus area. Over time, Franklin County residents have indicated a shift from prescription opioids to heroin and, more recently, from pure heroin to laced heroin, meth, and fentanyl. According to the coroner in Franklin County, overdose deaths in 2020 tell a similar story, although some other new trends can be noted.

These Columbus police officers dealt with a very sad situation in which a middle-aged woman struggling with addiction was writhing around and eating dirt at the side of the road.

The woman was taken to the hospital for detox.

«I reckon the best thing to do is put her in jail with the rest of the people struggling with the concept of reality, let her do her 30 days and get released. Then let her repeat the cycle all over again. Failsafe»

«@ 08:22 "Have I died , and gone to Hell?"

people don't take drugs that knowingly "send them to hell"... you can thank the open boarders and China for this weaponized drug problem.

«Super low dose Strychnine poisoning. Dead serious.
Looks like little Miss Misty-nuts got into some rat poison.
Maybe it was holed up sleeping somewhere that had been dosed recently.

«@kryptor wrong. This is a weaponized form of injectable drug. We see people with Bath salts behaving EXACTLY like this. this is not "rat poison"... that's stupid.»

«@stimpicus . . . no need for name calling. Why are you so triggered? . . I have no experience dealing with people on "Bath Salts" (whatever that is) so, you may be right. What I do have experience with is people who have accidentally or intentionally taken a super low dose of strychnine, and they also act just like this. Strychnine is used in Veterinary Medicine and is often the target when veterinary clinics get robbed.»
