«For those wondering, the pilot and three of the passengers were uninjured and the fourth passenger suffered a back injury. The helicopter didn’t fare quite as well. It tipped over onto its right side upon impact, and while it didn’t suffer major damage, it doesn’t take much to deem a flying vehicle not airworthy and indeed was sufficient to be considered totaled.»

«For all of you who know nothing about helicopter flying, a bird would not disrupt those blades other than maybe shake as a tire would that was out of balance. Whatever it was, the helicopter was still under control because the blades are in AUTOROTATION, the only fear is where to put it down, on the side of the cliff (NO!) or in the water with heavy surf. Most likely survived, but by the time the surf was done with that helicopter, it was now a scuba dive location attraction.»
