Police authorities from Colombia found the body of Charly Zambrano , a former officer of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) who was murdered while trying to cross the border.
According to journalist Román Camacho , the deceased was found around 7 in the morning, in the San José neighborhood of Villa del Rosario, Cúcuta.
Some residents of the area claimed to have heard gunshots and, later, saw three individuals flee on a motorcycle.
These men are presumed to be the perpetrators of the crime and members of a criminal gang that plagues border communities.
