During the carnival festivities in the Acraquia district, Tayacaja, in Huancavelica, a celebration turned tragic when a man lost his life after being hit by a horse during a race in the town of Pampas.
The tragic incident occurred this Monday, February 12, when Peter Barrientos Salazar , 31, entered the competition track intended for the horse race unexpectedly and in an apparent state of intoxication. Witnesses point out that Barrientos crossed the track just as two riders were competing in the final stage of the event, around 6 p.m.
