The tragic event occurred yesterday, when Maria Idalice was run over by a white Chevrolet Tracker taxi at the intersection of Rua Porto Alegre and Avenida Brasil, in the safety lane.
The incident took place around 8:30 in the morning, while the victim was leaving Brazil in the direction of the ERS-240 to Estação Portão, entering Porto Alegre towards Avenida Ceará. According to the taxi driver, he tried to avoid the woman, but could not avoid the impact. The driver immediately stopped, provided assistance and alerted firefighters.
