Jan 29th 2024: Medellín, Colombia - A celebration that was initially a cause for joy turned into tragedy when the body of Isabella Mesa Sánchez , 19, was discovered inside a suitcase in a house in the 12 de Octubre neighborhood. Her boyfriend, Sebastián Villegas Córdoba , 21 years old and a professional soldier in the National Army, is the main suspect in the femicide.
Due to the condition of the body, the exact cause of Isabella's death has not yet been determined, and it is hoped that the autopsy will shed more light.
The search for the soldier, who was on leave and due to return on February 2, continues as the community comes together to demand justice.
