The incident unfolded at a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) station in Jangpyeong-ri, Yongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang County. The explosion, believed to have been caused by a gas leak, resulted in injuries to five people. Two of them suffered severe burns, while the other three had minor injuries. All injured parties are currently receiving medical attention.
The blast extensively damaged 14 buildings and numerous cars. To ensure safety, about 25 residents in the area were evacuated. The explosion was so intense that it left a 300-meter-wide burn mark on the site.
