NEW: Illinois father tracks down & shoots man who assaulted his daughter.

The incident happened in Wood River, Illinois after the man's daughter came home badly beaten.

The father then took things into his own hands and chased the man down, shooting him.

"That’s my daughter! She means everything to me!" the dad shouted as he stood over the alleged attacker, pointing the gun at him.

Both men were reportedly shot and transferred to the hospital.
