A married Pennsylvania state trooper accused of having his ex-girlfriend committed to a mental health facility to exert control over her previously filed for divorce from his wife — but the request was withdrawn earlier this year, according to court records.

Ronald Keith Davis, a 37-year-old trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police, faces charges of false imprisonment, strangulation and unlawful restraint after he was recorded on video subduing his former paramour Michelle Perfanov, 37, according to authorities in Dauphin County.
