Students who do NOT align with the LGBTQ agenda or community are subjected to restrictions on their speech everyday and in nearly every school—so I came up with a solution ????????
Don’t try to cancel the rainbow flag or attack it. Simply ask to have a flag that represents you and your beliefs put up next to it…and what do you think the response will be?
If a teacher says no, hand them the packet. Come back the next day and ask them to hang the flag up again—after all, the packet gives them notice and ensures they’re fully aware that federal law prohibits discrimination on the basis of viewpoint.
If they still refuse, that’s intentional discrimination, and you can file a lawsuit that seeks an injunction—which is just a fancy word for a court order requiring the teacher to hang up the heterosexual flag.
From there, the more rainbow flags they put up, the more heterosexual flags they have to put up. See where this is going? And if they get mad about it, I’d say that seems like pretty strong evidence of their discriminatory intent.
All it takes is ONE STUDENT per school district to get an injunction—replicate this nationwide, and they’ll stop paving that rainbow road pretty damn quick.
“Students do not shed their First Amendment rights at the schoolhouse gate.” The Supreme Court has made this clear since its landmark holding in Tinker v. Des Moines back in 1969.
It’s time we enforce this right, protect kids against discrimination, and ensure voices contrary to their chosen narrative are no longer silenced.
