This is the moment Ukrainian troops storm Russian trenches near Bakhmut in a fierce battle that went on for over 24 hours.

This footage was released by the 28th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and shows smoke rising from trenches as Ukrainian soldiers throw grenades and fire rifles at targets.

Despite fierce resistance put up by Ukraine, its eastern parts are all but lost to Russia.
