<p>An armed robber ambushed a man during a hold-up in Lincoln Park early Friday — then shot the victim twice. And, after ordering him to give up his phone password, he shot the man again in the head as the victim writhed in pain on the street. Chicago police said the victim is in his 20s and was critically wounded. It happened at the corner of Wayne and Webster avenues around 3:05 a.m. And it was all caught on gut-wrenching video with sound. The hold-up is part of a two-night wave of robberies in Lakeview and Lincoln Park that left at least eight victims in its wake. On Friday evening, the victim was identified in a GoFundMe campaign as 23-year-old culinary student Dakotah Early. The video begins with a white sedan heading east on Webster, then coming to a stop after turning the corner onto Wayne. Its passenger gets out and takes up position around the corner, occasionally peeking around to see the victim approaching. Suddenly, he swings around the corner with a gun extended at the victim. “Where your phone,” he’s heard saying. The victim gives him his bag. He asks for the phone again. A flash is seen from the victim’s phone as he holds it in front of him. The victim grabs for the robber’s gun. They wrestle to the corner, where both fall to the ground with the offender pinning the man to the street. An accomplice emerges from the car with a handgun drawn. The robber who first confronted the victim climbs off the man, then immediately shoots him in the back from close range. The accomplice runs back to the car. The gunman fires another round into the man’s back as he rolls on the pavement, screaming. “WHAT’S YOUR PASSWORD!!?!” the robber yells while picking the victim’s phone off the pavement. “It’s five…” “FIVE!” The man struggles to say the full PIN through his pain. Flashes of light are seen as the offender types the PIN into the man’s phone. With the victim yelling in pain, the robber steps closer, then fires a round to his head. As the offender returns to the car’s passenger seat, the victim moans, his feet moving in pain. Area Three detectives are handling the case.</p>
