MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee officials are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash near 35th and Lisbon.

It happened Tuesday morning, May 3.

Milwaukee police say a 27-year-old Milwaukee man in a white vehicle disregarded a red light and collided with a second vehicle, driven by a 30-year-old Wauwatosa woman.

The second vehicle struck a pedestrian, a 39-year-old Milwaukee woman, who was standing on the corner. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Yolanda Baxter.

Surveillance video captured the shocking crash.

The victim was standing outside "The Key Spot" corner store where she's a frequent customer.

"She was just in here full of life yesterday, patronizing. Today, she's gone," said Dominic Key, store owner.

The owner of the store says it's a dangerous corner.

"Six, seven accidents a week and I am talking about pretty bad ones. Not just fender benders," Key said. "This is the first deadly one."

Key says he warns kid customers, telling them not to hang around after buying their goodies.

"When kids would come and they would walk out and stay there for about 30 seconds. I tell them 'keep moving, don’t stand right there in the door.' Because cars baseline and it comes so fast. Unfortunately, I knew this would happen," said Key.

Police say the 27-year-old driver was arrested and charges are being reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
