GERMANY: Man Dies after Being Beaten by Police

<p>A 47-year-old man collapsed and then died after being beaten by police in the southern German city of Mannheim, local media reported, the Anadolu Agency (.) reported.</p>
<p>From the state criminal police of Baden-Wuerttemberg and the prosecutor’s offices in Stuttgart and Mannheim, the police were called on Monday by an ambulance doctor regarding a patient in the center of Mannheim.</p>
<p>Police said “immediate coercion” was used as the man resisted. After that, the man collapsed and needed resuscitation for unknown reasons. After receiving emergency medical care, he was transferred to the University Clinic in Mannheim, where he died.</p>
<p>A video of the incident posted on Twitter shows police beating and trying to restrain the victim, who is lying on his stomach on the ground. Two policemen kneel over him, crossing their arms behind his back to handcuff him. At that moment, the man was convulsing and screaming, and when he tried to get up, one of the policemen punched him twice in the head.</p>
