Utah Man Slams Into Motorcyclist, With Intent to Kill

<p>MILLCREEK, Utah (KUTV) — Police reports indicate a driver says he intentionally ran over a motorcyclist who was sitting on his bike in a parking lot because he believed the man was going to kill him.</p>
<p>An arrest affidavit filed Thursday night alleges the attack was unprovoked, leading investigators to book Kenneth Cordova, 34, into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.</p>
<p>The incident happened at an apartment complex in Millcreek on March 27.</p>
<p>Video of the incident share with KUTV 2 by Utahzolanos shows Cordova’s black Acura sedan strike the motorcyclist as he sat on his bike in the parking lot.</p>
<p>The video shows the victim stand up after being struck, at which point Cordova gets out of his car and strikes the victim with his arms. According to police, Cordova punched and kicked the victim multiple times.</p>
<p>According to the arrest report, investigators interviewed Cordova about the incident and he admitted that he intentionally ran over the motorcyclist because he feared he was going to be killed.</p>
<p>“[Cordova] stated he encountered [victim] several minutes before and reported [victim] had a gun in his hand. [Cordova] stated he got to his car, which was parked outside of the apartment complex, drove back into the complex and ran him over. He felt he had to ‘kill or be killed’ and believed he had a hit on him from the year 2009,” the arrest report states.</p>
<p>Unified Police investigators say there is no evidence the victim had a gun. The victim told investigators he had never seen or interacted with Cordova before the incident.</p>
<p>The victim was taken to the hospital but did not suffer serious injuries, according to police.</p>
<p>Investigators requested Cordova be held in jail without bail due his ‘history of violent behavior’, including offenses in Nevada and Arizona.</p>
