According to the medical report, Morante suffered a “ bull horn wound to the posterior anal margin with a trajectory of approximately 10 cm, partially damaging the anal sphincter muscles and with a 1.5 cm perforation in the posterior wall of the rectum .” The report adds that “ the wound was washed and the rectal wall and sphincter apparatus were repaired, with suction drainage in the postanal and retrorectal spaces .” The report concludes with an extremely serious prognosis, stating " Very Serious ."
