STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - A 60-year-old woman will be facing charges following a police pursuit Tuesday in a stolen vehicle in Strongsville. According to the Strongsville Police Department, officers located a reported stolen vehicle on Pearl Road in the area of Whitney Road at 11:15 a.m. Officers were advised the stolen vehicle was involved in a pursuit earlier Tuesday morning with the North Olmsted Police Department. The stolen vehicle had pulled into the Kings Inn, where a Strongsville officer then attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle then struck a Strongsville police cruiser, police said, fleeing the scene northbound on Pearl Road. A Strongsville officer and a trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) began to pursue, when the vehicle ran a red light and struck an uninvolved vehicle. The crash caused the stolen vehicle to strike a utility pole and roll over. Police said the sole occupant, a 60-year-old woman, had to be transported to Southwest General Hospital. The woman had non-life threatening injuries, and the occupant of the uninvolved vehicle had no injuries at the time of the incident, police shared. TOLEDO, Ohio- A former Ohio attorney was convicted of attempted murder after prosecutors said he tried to shoot his ex-wife inside a crowded Toledo restaurant before a waiter and patrons intervened. Lucas County jury found Matthew Exton, 43, guilty of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault and multiple firearm specifications. He was acquitted of a third felonious assault charge. The charges stemmed from an April 11, 2025, confrontation at Sabira restaurant in downtown Toledo. According to Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates, as reported by WTOL, Exton had been drinking at neighboring Souk when he saw his ex-wife and her family at Sabira, which was celebrating its opening night. Exton entered Sabira, ordered a drink to be sent to their table and spat toward the group as he left, according to prosecutors. He later returned armed with a handgun and headed toward his ex-wife's table. Prosecution witnesses testified Exton attempted to fire the gun at his ex-wife, but it did not discharge because the safety was engaged. A waiter tackled Exton before he could make another attempt. The gun contained one round in the chamber and seven more in the magazine, according to prosecutors. "Nothing in their training and soft openings at the restaurant could have prepared the staff for what walked through that door," Bates said, via WTOL. "The defendant did not come with the intention of having a meal. He came with anger in him and with the intention to commit a public execution of his ex-wife at the restaurant that day." Exton testified that he did not intend to pull the trigger, reports The Toledo Blade, and claimed he pointed the gun at his ex-wife in an effort to pressure her to speed up the sale of their former home. The newspaper also reported that the trial also took an unusual turn during closing arguments when Judge Gary Cook ordered Exton removed from the courtroom after he repeatedly interrupted prosecutors. Exton watched the verdict remotely from a holding area. A man in Columbus, Ohio, who appeared to be trying to lose the police ended up losing his pants after he ran the bicycle he was riding into a fence. Footage recorded by Mikelle Smith's home security camera in Columbus shows the man riding a bicycle straight into Smith's backyard fence. As the bike hits the fence, the man goes headlong over it and his pants get caught on the top. The man stands up, still with his pants down, and runs out of the frame of the camera as two police officers exit their patrol car, jump over the fence, and follow the man. One of the officers also falls on his way over the fence. "I couldn't believe what I was seeing," Smith said. TOLEDO, Ohio — A 26-year-old from Maumee was injured after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday in downtown Toledo, according to police. The crash happened around 12:44 a.m. in the 600 block of Monroe Street. Investigators said the person was crossing Monroe Street when they were struck by a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old. The pedestrian landed near 619 Monroe St. and was taken for medical treatment. Four passengers were inside the vehicle: a 20-year-old, a 15-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old, according to the police report. The report does not indicate that the driver or passengers were injured. No arrests or charges were listed. WALNUT HILLS, Ohio - One person is dead and one person has been arrested after a shooting in Walnut Hills on Tuesday. A man was shot outside the Kemper Apartments on Kemper Lane near McMillan after noon. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
