Police are searching for the brazen suspects who robbed a jewelry store in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on Wednesday. NewsCopter 7 was over the scene on Madison Avenue, where authorities say the wild incident played out. Robbers had just smashed the front window of a jewelry store and were on their way out with garbage bags full of jewelry in hand. Jessie Sanchez is a close friend who owns a salon across the street. As the robbers tried to make it into their getaway car, there was one thing they did not account for; they weren't getting away without a fight. "She fought with them like a man," Sanchez said. "She's a brave woman. Stephanie is a brave woman, but I feel so sad for her mother. Her mother fell away. She fell. It was too much." The two fearless women tried to pull the robbers out of the getaway BMW as they hit reverse, sideswiping a parked car. The mother and daughter kept hanging on even as the robbers peeled off, leaving the mother on the ground. Other business owners tried to do whatever they could to help. Someone even kicked the moving vehicle. "One of my workers, she got out from here and then she tried to stop the car and then I was behind her trying to grab her but there is a point that you get so nervous, you get so frustrated that you turn back you know. Because you don't know if those people have guns," Sanchez said. The robbers were as bold as they come. Not only did they hit SD Jewelry on Madison Avenue in broad daylight, but they did it right under the cops' noses. There is a police substation right across the street. Detectives began their investigation into the afternoon smash and grab that targeted a family run business, leaving a whole neighborhood rattled. A mother and daughter put their lives on the line trying to protect their livelihood. Officials say officers pursued the vehicle out of town, but multiple suspects remain on the loose. They say no weapons were pulled out, and no one was injured. It's unclear what the suspects got away with.

FREEHOLD, N.J. - A mother and her two young children are recovering from injuries after they were hit by an out-of-control SUV outside a New Jersey preschool. The crash happened around 3 p.m. Friday as Patrice Pisani and her two sons left the Bloom Academy in Freehold. Surveillance video shows the family walk out the preschool’s front doors and head toward their car. At the same time, all three seem to notice the oncoming gray SUV, allegedly driven by another parent picking up a child. With her right hand, Pisani grabs her oldest son and tries to get to her youngest as the SUV slams into them, knocking the mother and her youngest son to the ground. Staffers and parents are then seen running out of the preschool’s front doors to help. Pisani’s youngest son took the brunt of the impact, with video showing the tire bounce on top of his leg, knocking off his shoe. The little boy is being treated for a leg injury and burns from the undercarriage of the car, his mother says. Pisani herself suffered injuries to her back and neck from being hit by the car. She says the driver was arrested by police and charged with driving while intoxicated. The SUV damaged a column at the preschool’s front door and destroyed a plastic railing leading to the building. The staff at Bloom Academy released the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by this incident. While we are grateful that the injury was not more severe, we remain committed to the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff.” Police are investigating the incident.

The decedent is identified as Teshawn Rogers, 27, of Jersey City. The fatal police encounter involved members of the Jersey City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, a unit that consists of plainclothes officers and utilizes unmarked vehicles. According to the preliminary investigation, officers assigned to the unit encountered Mr. Rogers shortly after 1 a.m. As Mr. Rogers was walking northbound on Bergen Avenue, two officers in an unmarked vehicle pulled to the side of the road ahead of Mr. Rogers. Mr. Rogers immediately discharged a firearm and ran southbound. The officers in the first vehicle did not discharge their weapons. A separate police vehicle containing additional members of the Unit pulled to the side of the road as Mr. Rogers ran southbound. Officer Lance Jackson exited from the passenger side of that vehicle and discharged his weapon, striking Mr. Rogers. Two surveillance videos, only one of which recorded audio, were released today. Emergency medical aid was provided before Mr. Rogers was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:44 a.m. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

New Jersey teacher Laura Caron was arrested for r*ping a male child for years, allegedly starting around the time the boy was 11. The relationship began when Caron was about 26 years old and allegedly went on for at least four years. "They need to drop all charges. I wasn't groomed or r*ped or manipulated by her. She never initiated anything. I started everything," he said to the Daily Mail. "This stuff is so deep. Like the world has no idea what she has done for my family. I love her with all my heart. She was there for me and my family." Back in December, the victim's father noticed that the child looked like him and his son, raising concerns. Caron had taught the victim and his brother when they were in 5th grade. "Over the years, the parents of the victim said the family became friends with Caron, which ultimately led to them even allowing their boys and daughter to stay at Caron’s home at times," ABC 6 reported. The children eventually stayed with Caron permanently from 2016 to 2020, according to reports. The victim’s sister says her brother was about 11 years old when he started sleeping in the same bed as Caron. The teacher would reportedly go into the bathroom while the victim was showering, lock the door, and r*pe him while the other siblings slept. Caron is currently awaiting trial and faces 10 years in prison.
