A man in a wheelchair was set on fire outside the Oklahoma City Police Department headquarters by a random man before bystanders jumped in to help. Video footage shows Alexander Emery throwing a lit Molotov cocktail at the man in the wheelchair and then pushing him into the fire. The incident happened on July 2 near West Main Street and North Lee Avenue in downtown Oklahoma City. Nearby officers and a bystander quickly intervened, pulling the victim from the flames. The victim is expected to recover, according to authorities. Emery was arrested on the spot, and police said he admitted to picking the man at random.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 41-year-old mother of four pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to punching a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and kicking an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer and will now face sentencing. News4JAX tried to speak to Jennifer Cruz as she exited the courtroom, but she had no comment. Back in January, Cruz pleaded not guilty to the charge and despite arguments from federal prosecutors that Cruz posed a flight risk because of connections to Mexico, a federal judge ruled Monday that she can be released on an unsecured $50,000 bond -- meaning she won’t have to pay any money upfront, which is not uncommon in federal cases. “She’s a mother of four, small business owner. She’s very gratified to get back to her family and her business and attend to both of those important responsibilities,” Cruz’s attorney Alan Ceballos said. Cruz will have to abide by a myriad of conditions during her release, including reporting in person for all pre-trial hearings, surrendering her passport, restricting her travel to what federal courts consider the Middle District of Florida (which stretches from Jacksonville to Ft. Myers), refraining from the use of drugs or alcohol and submitting to drug tests. When the judge asked Cruz during the detention hearing why she should be released pending her trial, she replied, “This is a horrible incident. It won’t happen again. You won’t see me again. I’m sorry.”

Officers responded to Delta gate D36 after receiving reports about a dispute between an intoxicated passenger, who was denied boarding Delta Flight DL1295 to Fort Lauderdale. Video shows an officer arriving at the gate, where he encounters Poirier, who is visibly agitated, yelling and cursing at Delta staff. Poirier can be seen calling the staff liars and using other expletives. When the officer asked if he was Dustin Poirier, the UFC fighter responded, "F*** you," and tried to fight him. A Chicago woman whose dramatic and embarrassing arrest at the hands of federal agents captured the world's attention has aggressively pushed back against the government's version of events - and has demanded millions for her trouble. Deborah Brockman, a former WGN-TV producer, was tossed to the ground and detained by mask-wearing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in the Windy City's Lincoln Square neighborhood on October 10. On Tuesday, Brockman filed a Federal Torts Claims Act, typically a precursor to a lawsuit, against the US government over the stunning incident, which at one point left her backside exposed. A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told the Daily Mail on Wednesday that Brockman had thrown objects at a Border Patrol car being driven by agents during the immigration enforcement operation. Brockman has accused the US government of assault and battery, false imprisonment, false arrest and intentional infliction of emotional distress, per the reported claim. She is seeking $10 million in damages. Brockman's filing, viewed by the Daily Mail, accused federal agents of knowing that 'severe emotional distress was certain' when they arrested her as she walked to a bus stop that day around 8.35am. She allegedly suffered 'headaches, pain, tenderness, bruises, abrasions, contusions, nausea [and] anxiety' as a result, the claim added. 'She was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer,' the DHS said.
