Florida Man Spits on Deputy, Threatens to Kill Kids gets Handled

A Florida man is accused of injuring his father with a hunting knife, threatening to kill four children and spitting on a deputy. According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO), on Sunday deputies responded to home on Fowler Drive in Deltona after receiving reports of a man armed with a large hunting knife who injured one person and was threatening to kill four children inside the home. Deputies say when the first deputy arrived at the scene, the suspect's father threw himself between his son and the deputy to prevent a shooting. VCSO Body camera video shows the father trying to talk to the suspect, who is seen standing in the driveway and holding a large knife in his hand. A deputy can be heard on video telling the suspect to drop the knife and ordering the father to get out of the way. "You need to move out of the way f****** please," the deputy can be heard telling the father. "I'm not going to shoot him if he drops the knife." The body camera video continues to show deputies surrounding the suspect and ordering him to get on the ground. The suspect, identified as Trevor Nieves-Gonzalez, is then seen spitting at one of the deputy's, prompting him to utilize his taser. The taser was deployed and the suspect is seen dropping to the ground, deputies say. The body camera video cuts to show the responding deputy speaking to the father who is concerned for the suspect. "He's a good boy," the father can be heard saying on camera. The father was treated for his injuries, and Nieves-Gonzalez was booked on charges of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, four counts of child abuse, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer without violence.
