This incident took place yesterday. One of our communities sent in this video and noted: “This happened earlier this evening at Belga Cafe on 8th Street SE (Capitol Hill) Out of nowhere the staff were attacked at the restaurant by people passing by. They destroyed the patio and injured multiple people. The video starts with them stomping on a waiter and it ends with the owner/chef Bart (guy in green vest) being punch. A MPD cruiser was near by and someone ran for help and they drove away. A half of block up there were at least 6 to 8 national guard. No one helped! Please share anonymously.” They noted that the police and EMTs did not arrive until 911 was called. Additionally, they said to their knowledge they weren’t aware of there was anything else that started the fight.
