Former US Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund stated that former House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving denied his request for the National Guard in the days leading up to the attack. Irving served under then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi who co-controlled Capitol security operations and reports to the speaker of the house. Pelosi later stated she takes responsibility for Capitol security failures on that day. Dumbass.»
