Chinese coast guard ships used powerful water cannons on Sunday and rammed and slightly damaged an anchored Philippine government vessel off an island inhabited by Filipinos in the disputed South China Sea, the Philippine coast guard said.

There were no injuries among Filipino crewmen of the BRP Datu Pagbuaya, part of the fisheries fleet that provides support to Filipino fishermen. The Chinese coast guard targeted Pagbuaya off the Philippines-occupied Thitu island in the latest flare-up of the long-simmering territorial disputes involving Manila, Beijing and four other governments.

«I don't speak description at this hour. All I see are slants. Video shows what looks like two boats harassing a military ship, attempting to stop it by cutting in front of it repeatedly until it slows to a stop. Whereupon they would board and likely seize the ship like the pirates they are. (Chinese endorsement)

«@Comfortably_numb Part of why I thought what I wrote is because the ship that was referred to as being a Chinese coast guard ship using water cannons (was seen using the cannon to expell water it was taking on in the later video). So that one is definitely Chinese, but they said it rammed the anchored Philippine military (gov) ship... It was moving, and they tried to avoid the ramming but yeah... Play stupid games and all.
