Mix-up over food orders escalated into a late-night brawl that sent seven adults to jail early Sunday, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. at the Whataburger at Blanco Road near West Bitters Road.
Police said two groups of people were arguing over a mixed up food order when a brawl ensued.
Authorities identified those arrested as Andres Garcia Cardenas, 21; Tyrone Tolliver, 21; Miguel Torres, 57; Meili Torres, 21; Andrew Lopez, 21; Deontae Tolliver, 23; and Veronica Valdez, 53. All seven were taken to the Bexar County Jail, where they are expected to face charges of assault causing bodily injury.
A mother of one of the teenagers involved shared a video of the incident, which was sent to her from the scene. She described her son’s injuries as serious, including a concussion, 40 lacerations, a bite mark, a broken wrist, and bruised kidneys, liver, and ribs. She explained that what happened went far beyond a simple misunderstanding and is calling for justice for all the young people involved.
The mother directed further inquiries to their attorney, Roger Perez, who stated that they are not conducting interviews at this time and those involved are still recovering. He added they are assessing the situation and investigating to see what the next steps should be.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.

«I used to live in that neighborhood. That is the Churchill/Deerfield area of San Antonio and still nice. It got a ton of diversity injected into it after Hurricane Katrina when they relocated displaced residents there. Not too many scholars, but a lot of good Cajun restaurants though!»
