NEW: Driver stops for gas in the middle of a high speed police chase and still manages to get away.
The individual was running from police after allegedly stealing a car.
The man was seen looking right into the camera of the police helicopter as he stopped to get some gas.
The suspect hit speeds of up to 100mph during the pursuit.
Eventually, the pursuit ended when the man ditched the car under a freeway overpass, out of sight of the chopper.
The driver was able to escape and is not in custody, according to ABC 7.
Insane.
