Tony Demaree was working security in the pit at the sold-out Jelly Roll concert at the North Dakota State Fair
His role was to keep fans back from the metal barricades in front of the stage
After being told by a coworker that fans no longer needed to be held back, Demaree moved to the south end of the stage
There, he saw a young man in a motorized wheelchair struggling to see
“If they don’t mind if people are there, this fella needs to be where he can see,” Demaree said
Demaree moved the fan into the pit area, keeping emergency access space clear
His boss later confronted him, saying he was “incompetent” and “not doing his job.”
After the concert, Jelly Roll’s wife thanked the security guard on social media
