You're right, I haven't done much research on this topic. In fact I've done no research on missing children. Evidently, despite the number dropping, neither have you. According to the National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway and Thrownaway Children, there are an average of 460,000 children reported missing in the US each year, about 2300/day. If you're so fucking concerned about the missing kids, shouldn't you at least know what the fuck you're talking about Mr. Children's Champion? Couple other stats for you too, pay attention so you can actually speak factually on this matter. Of that 460,000, 90% are runaways. Of that 460,000, 99% will be returned home. About 1 in 10,000 of those kids will be murdered. The recovery rate for the most at risk kids was at 97% in 2011, up from 62% in 1990. That statistic illuminates the progress made in recovering these kids. Obviously someone is aware of this issue because far fewer kids are remaining missing over the long term. In 2020, the most reported age group of missing kids was 15-17. Second most reported group was 12-14. Least reported group was 6-8. Highest number of abducted kids were white followed by black and then Hispanic. The missing black and Hispanic kids represent a much higher percentage of their specific overall populations because they're from a much smaller share of the overall population.
