Brazil: The victim was identified as Manoel Antunes dos Santos, 17 years old, who died after losing his balance and falling to the ground while driving on Avenida Getúlio Vargas.
According to the Military Police , the cyclist was riding on Avenida Getúlio Vargas when, at around 7:10 am, he fell to the ground after losing his balance while trying to avoid two pedestrians who were walking near the curb. A bus was traveling next to the young man at that exact moment and ended up running over him before the driver was able to brake.
The incident was recorded by security cameras in the region. The victim died at the scene. The case is being investigated by the State Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) of the Civil Police.
