PALM COAST, Fla. (WFLA) — A fleeing suspect was struck by a deputy’s patrol car after he pulled a gun on him, according to Florida deputies.

On Saturday night, Deputy Christopher Murphy with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling an area of Palm Coast when he spotted a man next to a bicycle on a sidewalk.

When the deputy tried to approach the man, identified as 38-year-old Michael McDermott, he picked up the bike and rode away.
