VANCOUVER, Wash. — A wanted man is facing new charges after he was caught crawling through the ceiling of the Vancouver Mall last week. Mall employees called Vancouver Police on September 30 to report that the man identified as Gabriel Hideo, was crawling through the ceiling, breaking tiles and damaging lights and other fixtures. Police evacuated the second floor of the Macy’s store while they tried to get him down. Officials said they put a ladder through the ceiling and a mattress underneath in case he fell. “He then tried to climb back into the ceiling, so officers pulled the ladder away to keep him from going back up,” Vancouver Police said in a post with body camera footage of the arrest. After landing on the mattress, Hideo tries to get up and run, only to be apprehended by officers. LONGVIEW, Wash.— A Tennessee woman faces multiple criminal charges after police said she ran from officers along the Lewis and Clark Bridge, climbed onto a railing, and threw a container at them on Sept. 18. Longview police officers were called to the bridge after receiving reports of a woman standing on the railings. According to police, Crystal L. Griffin, 36, of Chattanooga, ran when officers arrived and climbed onto the bridge structure. Investigators said Griffin threatened officers as they tried to calm the situation, tried to hit them, and threw an open container that struck the officers. Covington, WA - Two convicted felons accused of stealing about $2,000 worth of beauty products from an Ulta store in Covington pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges stemming from the alleged theft and a subsequent police pursuit. King County prosecutors say 24-year-old Kane Christensen and 30-year-old Jaycob Fernandez were involved in the Aug. 20 theft at the Ulta store. Deputies began tracking the pair after an alarm was triggered at the store. Investigators say surveillance video showed Fernandez leaving the store without paying for about $2,000 worth of merchandise before getting into a waiting vehicle. Deputies later spotted the suspects in the stolen Hyundai Sonata at a gas station in Kent, according to charging documents. As deputies moved in, the driver sped away, leaving Fernandez behind. Surveillance video captures the violent implosion of a massive tank at a Washington state paper mill, an industrial disaster that killed workers and tore through part of the Nippon Dynawave facility in May. The video shows the white liquor tank at the Longview mill suddenly collapse, unleashing the deadly force of the implosion and revealing the scale of the destruction in its immediate aftermath. The video, obtained via a records request, was recorded from a surveillance camera located in the Station 6 Central Maintenance parking lot. The tank is barely visible at the top of the frame. Seconds into the recording, the tank rupture occurs. The tank can be seen collapsing on one side, followed by a large gaseous cloud. Minutes later, that cloud and a flow of white liquor slowly fill the parking lot. The catastrophe unfolded on the morning of May 26. Eleven people were killed, making it the deadliest industrial accident in Washington state history.
