COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Popular Twitch streamer BenDaDonnn and his alleged security guard were arrested in College Station for an alleged altercation with police overnight. Records from College Station Police confirm that 34-year-old Benjamin Beard (known as BenDaDonnn online) was charged on Sunday with evading arrest. His bond is set at $7,000. Another man, 29-year-old Kenny Carter, was charged with Interference with Public Duties. His bond is $4,000. According to police, patrol officers were clearing people from a roadway in front of a bar when a group refused to comply with their commands. One officer tried to direct one person off the roadway, but the person reportedly slapped the officer's hand away. The officer tried to detain that suspect when another person reportedly grabbed that officer, interfering with the arrest. Police say the second suspect claimed to be the first suspect's security guard. At some point, police say the officer used a "less-lethal tool" on the first suspect as he tried to get away. The second suspect then pushed the officer to the ground as the officer tried to take the first suspect into custody. Both men were eventually arrested. ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police released body camera video and provided an update on an officer-involved shooting that ended with a man’s death. The 56-year-old man was suffering a mental health crisis and reportedly lunged at officers with a large knife. Chief Al Jones identified the deceased man as 56-year-old David Eversole, who had been making suicidal comments and had access to knives. Four officers responded to the 911 call from another person in his home. "When officers entered the room, Mr. Eversole became very upset and pulled out a large knife. The officers gave him multiple verbal commands to drop the knife, but he did not comply. In an attempt to de-escalate the situation, you can see the officer start backing out of the room. He lowered his weapon, but at that moment, Mr. Eversole came towards the officer still holding the knife. The officer then fired multiple shots at Mr. Everson, striking him," Chief Jones said. The deadly shooting happened on Sept. 17 around 10:45 p.m. at a home in the 1700 block of West Lovers Lane. That’s just south of Interstate 30, north of West Pioneer Parkway. Witnesses told police the 56-year-old man was in a state of emotional distress and threatening to take his own life. Police said the responding officers heard the man yelling and learned that a family member was in the room with him. PEARLAND, Texas – Two men from Florida have been arrested after Pearland police investigated suspicious ATM activity and ultimately were led on a chase. The Pearland Police Department says it happened on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at approximately 6 p.m. when officers were dispatched to a bank in the 9900 block of Broadway Street after getting reports of suspicious activity in the ATM drive-thru. Officers were told that a masked man was making multiple transactions using several different cards and withdrawing large amounts of cash. As officers were responding, the suspect was seen getting into the passenger seat of white GMC Sierra, which then left the area. With the help of a drone, an officer found the truck in the parking lot of a business in the 2500 block of Smith Ranch Road. The passenger got out of the truck and began to walk away, but was detained by the officer. The driver, who was still inside the truck, took off. Other officers attempted to pull over the truck, but the suspect refused to stop. The suspect began throwing large amounts of cash out the window of the truck, which was caught on dash cam video. The vehicle eventually stopped in the 1600 block of Max Road. Officers took the suspect into custody without further incident. Officers recovered more than $6,000 in cash that had been thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit. The passenger was identified as Tarvares Givens, of Florida, and was arrested and charged with Failure to Identify. The driver was identified as Levon Steven Jr., of Florida, and was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest and Tampering with Evidence. The investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident for additional fraud-related charges. A school bus with 14 children aboard was caught on home security camera crashing into a parked van in Odessa, Texas, on Thursday, September 17. Tiffany Miles's camera captured part of the collision on Monahan Street, She said that the bus first struck a trailer before hitting her husband's work van, which was pushed into another car. Police told local news the bus driver left the roadway and first struck the parked trailer before continuing into other vehicles. The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was cited for failure to control speed. The Ector County Independent School District (ISD) said there were no serious injuries to the students, anyone else on the street, or the bus driver. The unidentified man was in serious but stable condition at a hospital after being shot once in the torso on the capital city's north side, Austin officials said at a news conference. San Antonio, TX - The San Antonio Police Department released body-worn camera footage of an officer shooting and killing a man armed with two knives on the Northwest Side. Gregory Boaz, 56, was fatally shot by SAPD officer Rafael Perez on Aug. 16. Shortly before midnight, officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Spring Front Drive for a disturbance involving a gun. Upon arrival, the video shows a woman, who said she was Boaz’s girlfriend, telling Perez that Boaz had “too much” of his medication. “He’s having a lot of hallucinations,” the woman told Perez. “He scared me to death; he woke me up.” Perez asked the woman if there were any weapons in the house, and she said no. The woman also told Perez no one else was in the house. As Perez walked toward the home with the woman, she told Perez that Boaz had two knives. The footage shows Boaz coming out from the back of the house and starting to run toward Perez. “Hey, sir, backup, backup,” Perez yelled to Boaz. In the footage, Boaz stops running, turns around, and faces the direction he came from. “Hey, put the knife down now,” Perez said. “That’s an animal. Put the knife down. Sir.” The video shows Boaz, who was still facing away from Perez, pointing one of the knives from where he came from. Boaz begins to run toward Perez. After Perez gave Boaz several commands to back up, he shot Boaz about four times, the video shows. Perez is then seen in the video announcing on his radio, “shots fired.” Boaz was later pronounced dead at the scene.
