Someone reached out to the police department on May 22 to report that Thomas Nelson, age 33, was suicidal and had pulled out a handgun on a neighbor. Officers arrived within minutes; some took positions near the front of the house, and others took cover behind a truck as they waited for additional resources. Nelson had reportedly gone inside and closed the door. An officer tried to contact Nelson by phone. Nelson came out, dropped the items he was carrying, and pulled a gun from his waistband, the police department said. Officers gave repeated commands for Nelson to drop the gun, but "Nelson racked the slide of the gun and then removed the gun upwards," a press release states. Four officers shot at Nelson. He died at the scene. The officers involved were placed on administrative leave per standard protocol. No other injuries were reported. Officers with the West Valley City Police Department are conducting an independent investigation.

Retired Officer Shoots and Kills Drug Addict Son Following Argument About Money

In Adana, retired police officer Faruk Kayhan argued with his son, Ahmet Kaan Kayhan, who allegedly asked him for money. The shooting happened around 3 p.m. in the 3700 block of West Lexington Street. A Chicago Fire Department spokesperson confirmed one person was killed in the shooting. Officials have not said if the man fired shots at agents, but sources said he was wanted in connection to a bank robbery. After the shooting, several FBI agents in helmets and protective vests approached a Cadillac SUV with rifles drawn. Agents later pulled a person who appeared to be dead out of the driver's seat. The vehicle had been struck by dozens of bullets, and was left heavily damaged. "The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously. In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI's Inspection Division," an FBI spokesperson said in a statement. People who live nearby said they heard at least 15 shots. "This is everyday life. I mean, you can't explain something that happened that you don't even know about, but however it's going, all we can do is watch and try and avoid it," Felica Fort said. One person who said he has lived in Homan Square for more than two decades, and asked to remain anonymous, said he witnessed the shooting from his balcony. He described a shootout between the man in the SUV and FBI agents. "He came up through the sunroof and started spraying bullets, and they sprayed back at him," the man said. "I'm diving on the floor when the shots took place." A man who said he was the brother of the man shot by the FBI identified him as a 25-year-old named Abdul. He said his brother was just visiting a relative near Lexington Street and Independence Boulevard. "For him to just be sitting in the car and them to shoot him, they wanted him dead," he said. "We know he did not shoot. He would never shoot at the police, because, I mean, that's death. That's suicide by cop. He's not stupid." The FBI declined to immediately provide any further information on Thursday afternoon.

Man Shoots Woman After She Sprayed Mace on Him

Memphis

BREAKING NEWS: GUNSHOTS OUTSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE

Gunshots break out at the White House while ABC reporter Selina Wang records for the news. At 1:10 a.m. Monday, officers were called to the scene outside Cultura Seattle Nightclub at 916 East Pike, where three men in their 20s were found shot. All were taken to Harborview Medical Center, where one is in critical condition, and two others are in serious condition. Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an argument outside the club among three men and nightclub security. As the three men left, at least one pulled a gun and fired shots toward the club, hitting three victims, according to Seattle police. Police said they’re looking for three suspects who walked or ran away from the scene before officers arrived. Detectives are combing through footage from area security cameras, interviewing witnesses, and examining evidence. People who were outside the nightclub when the shots were fired described the scene as "pandemonium." "Scary, scary," shooting witness Medi Tafere said. "You don’t know which way the bullets are coming and it happened so fast. Next thing you know three people are on the ground, blood everywhere.” Witnesses said they heard six to eight gunshots. "I’m kind of disheartened because we don’t need this stuff around here man. This is a good neighborhood,” a man said . And now some of those neighbors are worried about the bigger picture. This is one of about 170 shooting incidents since the start of the year. While the number of shooting calls is down by about 31% from the same period last year, neighbors said it is still too much. We got a big tournament coming, the city’s excited and we want the guests to come here and feel safe and have a good time, this is the last thing we want to happen," Tafere said. "We are bigger than that. We are very awesome community here that likes to have a good time, no violence." Detectives with the Seattle Police Department Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation.

Officers Fired More Than A Dozen Shots During Fatal Woodlawn Shooting: Video

WOODLAWN — Body-camera and surveillance video released Friday show two Illinois State Police officers fire more than a dozen shots and killing a 24-year-old man who initially had his back turned as his own firearm discharged during a struggle with the officers in Woodlawn last month.

The two officers, who have not been identified and are now on administrative leave amid an ongoing investigation, shot and killed Jalen Carpenter, of Markham, Illinois, while responding to a domestic battery call at 10:50 p.m. on April 15 in the 6500 block of South Champlain Avenue.

Squatter thinks it's funny to Run after police

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — An investigation is underway following an officer-involved shooting earlier this month is San Diego’s East Village neighborhood, authorities confirmed.

The FOX 5 video above shows coverage of an officer involved shooting on April 15, 2026

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 5 p.m. on April 15 near the intersection of 16th Street and Island Avenue.

Officers with the San Diego Police Department responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, where callers said a woman was actively stabbing a man.

Police say when officers arrived, they gave commands for the suspect to drop the object she was holding. The shooting happened on the night of Feb. 26. Police had reported that Ofc. Oscar Torres-Molina pulled over a white car near Aloha Avenue and South Perkins in the Parkway Village neighborhood. The newly released footage shows the interaction between the officer and the suspect, later identified as 40-year-old Danell Maxwell. In the video, Maxwell tells the officer that he has a gun. As both of them walked to the officer's squad car, the officer asked Maxwell if the VIN number on one of his car doors "always been scratched off like that." Moments later, the video shows Maxwell pulling out a gun and shooting Torres-Molina. The footage continues, showing Maxwell looking at the officer on the ground. MPD had previously reported that Torres-Molina was shot in the face. He was hospitalized for several days and released. Last week, police said the officer was still recovering. Maxwell was arrested Thursday at an apartment complex in Cordova. He was taken into custody with Tokeytha Owens, accused of hiding Maxwell inside her apartment.

No charges for Gastonia police officers who shot, killed man at convenience store

Security footage was released today after it was announced that the two Gastonia police officers who shot and killed a man at a convenience store in January won’t face any criminal charges. Also, at that angle the standard "torso" target get's a whole lot thinner and the accuracy demanded increases -after the man in red was shot and killed saving taxpayers millions of dollars, it was discovered that the "gun" he pulled was a replica and not real
