Wappingers Falls, NY - Body camera footage from a police shooting in June that left a 17-year-old dead shows several officers firing a volley of shots as the teenager suddenly moves toward a State Police investigator who is speaking with him. A knife police said he was armed with is not visible in the footage released Wednesday, but the investigator can be heard discussing the weapon with the teenager in the minutes before the fatal shooting; the state attorney general’s office said police recovered a knife at the scene. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of June 27 in Wappingers Falls. The teenager, Oscar Granados Colindres, was seated on the railing of the Wappingers Falls Creek Bridge while being questioned by a State Police investigator. State troopers, as well as Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office deputies and village of Wappingers Falls police officers, were all at the scene and had responded to a report of a suicidal person. According to a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation, Colindres was upset because he was a suspect in a criminal rape case. His parents had recently kicked him out of the house, the source added. The videos begin with Colindres sitting on the railing of the bridge, speaking with an officer standing on the other side of the sidewalk by a parked car. A group of at least five other officers stands in the middle of the road with a State Police vehicle behind them. Farther away, two sheriff’s deputies are near a patrol car. The officers spoke with Colindres for approximately 50 minutes, according to the attorney general’s office, in a mix of English and Spanish. The New York Police Department released bodycam footage showing the fatal August 31 confrontation in Times Square in which officers shot 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros after police said she stabbed two people. The footage shows officers repeatedly ordering Cisneros to drop two knives, followed by the deployment of Tasers and the eventual use of gunfire as she approached while still armed, according to police. One of the stabbing victims, 32-year-old Erin Piacenti, later died, while 68-year-old Tak Kam survived. Lawrence police received several 911 calls on Monday night reporting gun shots on Farnham Street, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office. Arriving officers found a 51-year-old man suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead. Elvin Joaquin Rodriguez, 26, was taken into custody on a warrant and later charged with murder. He is also facing charges of carrying a loaded firearm without a license and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building. The district attorney's office identified the victim Tuesday afternoon as Alexis Rodriguez Martinez, the suspect's father. A not guilty plea was entered on Rodriguez's behalf at his arraignment Tuesday in Lawrence District Court and he was ordered held without bail. His attorney did not object to the prosecution's bail request. Neighbors who spoke with NBC10 Boston described hearing multiple gunshots Monday night. "The first time I heard it, I said, 'It was no fireworks, that sounded like a shooting,'" one neighbor who lives next door said in Spanish. William Moulton, another neighbor, said he heard what sounded like six shots. Moulton said he would often see Rodriguez Martinez walking his dog across the street. "It was a tragedy," Moulton said. "I don't know what goes through people's heads, to shoot somebody like that." A family friend remembered Rodriguez Martinez as a good person and a hard worker. News of the fatal shooting also rattled people living nearby. "When something like this happens in the neighborhood, I think everybody — you know, this is where we live — and everybody wants to feel safe," one neighbor said. Rodriguez is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause hearing on Oct. 22. MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department released body camera video of an incident where an officer fatally shot an armed man after a car and foot pursuit ended in a gunfight. The Sept. 23 incident began when officers on patrol spotted a car matching a vehicle wanted in a shots-fired incident. They tried to stop the car, and a pursuit followed, according to police. Video shows the car eventually coming to a stop. Two occupants got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. An officer can be seen pursuing the suspect while ordering him to get on the ground. The suspect refused, and the two exchanged gunfire, police said. The man died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts from MPD and Milwaukee Fire Department personnel. He was holding one firearm when he was shot, and a second was in his waistband. A third gun was recovered from the car. The officer, a 35-year-old with more than three years on the force, was taken to a hospital for an injury and released. He was placed on administrative duty, according to police. Surveillance cameras captured the dramatic moments leading up to a shooting Tuesday at a Pompano Beach gas station that left one person hospitalized. Deputies responded to the shooting around 3 p.m. at the Orion gas station in the area of East Atlantic Boulevard and Northeast 1st Avenue, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said. When they arrived the deputies found a man who'd been shot. Paramedics took him to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was unknown. The video appears to show a man walking up to a white Toyota SUV, pulling on the passenger-side door handles and banging on the window. When the door opens, he reaches inside. The woman in the passenger seat pushes him away, and the encounter quickly turns physical. The video appears to show the man punching the woman as she tries to fend him off. During much of the confrontation, the driver of the SUV appears to stand nearby with his door open as the fight unfolds just feet away. Then, just as quickly as the confrontation began, it appears to end. The man walks into the gas station convenience store, appears to make a purchase and walks back out less than 30 seconds later. But the tension doesn't end there – as the man walks in front of the white Toyota, the video appears to show the driver motion toward him before multiple shots are fired, striking the man. The driver remained at the scene as deputies investigated, BSO said. Hours after the shooting, a person who appears to be the same one seen in the surveillance video returned to the scene to collect the SUV. He ignored questions from reporters, honked his horn and drove off. Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed yellow crime scene tape closing off the gas station, with multiple deputies and detectives investigating. Officials haven't released the identities of anyone involved or said what may have led to the shooting. Heart-stopping cellphone video appears to capture the fight before a Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent shot and killed a person in Southwest Miami-Dade. Deputies responded to the shooting shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday in the area of Southwest 157th Avenue and Southwest 140th Street. Investigators said the agent was inside his vehicle when a person who was standing in the street approached and started hitting the vehicle's window. The agent exited and there was a physical altercation, and at one point the other person threw the agent to the ground and got on top of him, officials said. Video taken by a driver appears to show that fight between two men as cars honk in the busy roadway. It also shows the moment one of the men picks up the other and slams him to the ground, then gets on top of him. One of the men can be heard yelling, "Help, help, help! He's got a gun." The footage shakes as the driver recording appears to get out of their car, also warning, "Hey, he got a gun." Then, a shot goes off. The sheriff's office said it was the FDLE agent who opened fire, shooting the person who had slammed him to the ground. Julyana Adam said she was inside her home when she heard a single gunshot. "All I hear is 'help, help he has a gun,'" Adam said. "Then a gunshot goes off." A Miami Police officer who was in the area and Miami-Dade deputies responded and gave the person lifesaving efforts, but they were pronounced dead at the scene. The person's identity was not released. FDLE said the agent was on duty at the time of the shooting, but haven't said what he was doing in the neighborhood. The agent suffered minor injuries during the altercation and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, FDLE said. He was placed on administrative leave as is standard procedure. Adam said she soon learned who died. "The landlord, he stepped out and he's like, 'that's one of ours,'" she said. "That's when I was like, you know, that's my neighbor." A normally quiet neighborhood was shattered by violence. Adam, like many of her neighbors, wants to know why. "It was scary... to hear them arguing in the beginning and then to hear somebody say 'help, help' and I can't do much other than like look out the window," she said. "Whatever happened there, shouldn't have happened, or escalated to that level." The Oakwood Police Department and the Texas Rangers are investigating a shooting in a convenience store parking lot that left one man hospitalized and prompted a school lockdown late last week. Oakwood Police Chief Anthony “Tony” Gasaway told KBTX that officers responded just after 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, to reports of a fight at a gas station on Broad Street. While officers were en route, a shooting occurred during the altercation. The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where police said his condition was listed as stable at last check. The suspect, identified by police as Kadonte Watkins, 24, of Palestine, TX, was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation before being booked into the Leon County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant, Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Taking a Weapon from an Officer. Bond was set at $75,000 for one charge, and no bond was set on the other two, so Watkins remains in custody.
