MSHP RELEASES DASH CAM FOOTAGE OF FATAL INCIDENT WITH DOUBLE HOMICIDE SUSPECT

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the dash cam video of in incident involving a homicide suspect in June 2025.

The incident was reported on June 17, 2025, when Concordia Police attempted to stop a motorcycle driven by a double homicide suspect, identified as 23-year-old Francis Alcantar-Chavez. The video shows the motorcycle crash into a MSHP patrol vehicle while they were attempting to stop the suspect in Saline County, just west of Sweet Springs. A trooper attempted to prevent Alcantar-Chavez from getting back on the motorcycle, but the suspect grabbed a handgun and fired at law enforcement. Troopers returned fire and ended the threat, resulting the death of the suspect.

One round fire by Alcantar-Chavez did strike the trooper, but was stopped by his ballistic vest. The trooper has since fully recovered and returned to duty.

The complete dash cam footage of the incident provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol is linked below. The patrol states the footage is intense and advises viewer discretion.

Armed suspect dead after officers fired shots in Gulfton area in southwest Houston, HPD says.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An armed suspect is dead after a police officer fired shots at him in the Gulfton area in southwest Houston on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers received a call at 3:52 p.m. on Wednesday about a man walking westbound in the 5800 block of Glenmont Drive with a black handgun inside a pink purse.

Man allegedly pointed BB gun resembling handgun at officers after assault-with-deadly-weapon call.

Four Los Angeles Police Department officers were identified Wednesday in connection with an officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning in the Wilshire area, where a suspect was shot in the jaw after allegedly pointing what appeared to be a handgun at officers.

The officers—Police Officer Christopher Martin, Police Officer Kenneth Rodriguez, Police Officer Josue Toc and Police Officer Alejandro Lopez—were named after Chief Michel authorized the release of their identities, per department policy.

The incident occurred about 6:50 a.m. March 10 at 1826 Alsace Ave. Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in which the suspect, later identified as Jamil Basheer, allegedly “pulled a gun” on a person who had asked him to turn down his music, according to a preliminary LAPD account.

Police officers shot a man with a 13-inch kitchen knife who confronted them after allegedly causing a raucous at a grocery store in Manhattan on Monday, according to officials. Surveillance video from inside the store shows a man in a blue sweatshirt banging on the window from outside, with a large knife in his hand. Store employees say they locked the door from the inside and called 911. Officers arrived within minutes, police said at an early-morning press conference. The knife-wielding man allegedly confronted them. Police officials say multiple verbal commands to drop the knife went ignored, and at one point, the man allegedly quickly advanced toward the officers with the knife extended outward. He got close to them, police officials say. One of the officers fired a gun. The man in the blue sweatshirt was hit. The 53-year-old was taken to a hospital, where he was undergoing surgery on Monday. He is expected to survive. The officers involved in the shooting were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

LAPD officers fatally shoot man in Westmont neighborhood of Los Angeles County holding Gun to his Head

A man whom the Los Angeles Police Department believes was responsible for another shooting was fatally shot by officers in the Westmont neighborhood on Friday morning.

The LAPD said they responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 1100 block of Vermont Avenue around 1 a.m. Comments from the radio call said a man had shot another man and the suspect had fled west on Imperial Avenue.

Police requested additional units in the area. Responding officers found the suspect allegedly armed with a handgun.

The LAPD said officers gave the suspect multiple commands, but he refused to comply, and the suspect was struck by police gunfire.

Paramedics from the LA County Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the suspect dead. He was later identified by LAPD officers as 45-year-old Eliar Real Hernandez.
