Seattle, WA - Seattle Police officers investigating a domestic violence incident in the 900 block of Golf Drive South were involved in an officer-involved shooting Friday afternoon. Police responded to an apartment building in the Beacon Hill neighborhood when a man called 911 around 8 AM to report a domestic violence assault. When police arrived at the scene, they spoke with a male who had sustained a laceration during the assault. The victim was evaluated by Seattle Fire and taken to the hospital via AMR for treatment. Patrol officers went to contact the suspect in an apartment; however, the suspect barricaded herself inside. Officers obtained a warrant from a judge to make entry into the apartment. At some point, one officer fired their weapon, striking and injuring the suspect. Two people are dead after two separate shootings in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood early Sunday morning. One of those shootings happened after an illegal street racing takeover at 3rd and Clay St. “We were just up watching TV and hanging out in our apartment, and we heard the car racing going on, which typically happens at this intersection,” Heidi Hetzel said. Hetzel said illegal street takeovers have happened there before, but Sunday morning something else on a nearby sidewalk caught her attention. “My partner kept watching and said, ‘Oh no- they’re fighting,’ and so we kind of saw the altercation that went down.” Seattle police were called to the scene at 12:42 AM, Detective Brian Pritchard wrote on the SPD blotter. Officers found two men who’d been shot. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center, where one of them died. Later, a man and woman – both with gunshot wounds – turned up at Harborview. Police say they are linked to the shooting. Within less than two hours of the 3rd and Clay Street shooting, Seattle police were called to a separate shooting six blocks away at 3rd and Blanchard. DEI Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes appeared to want to fight a journalist after he was asked about not being in the state often for work. It was learned that Barnes was in Dallas, Texas when the mass sh—ting happened. The press conference was delayed for over five hours after the shooting on July 26 at the Bite of Seattle food festival. Three were killed, and seven others were injured. The city did not inform the public for all those hours that a suspect was and still is at large. Young woman in Seattle is warning people to carry a firearm after she says she was jumped, beaten, and robbed by a man and two women he was with. She was out with what appears to have been an acquaintance when she was attacked on the street. People watched, but no one came to her aid.
