District Attorney Eric Gonzalez and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch held a press conference where Gonzalez talked about the violence and terror the gangs wreaked on the streets. One 17-year-old was killed when he was shot in the head by friendly fire, and another 16-year-old, who had no affiliation, was walking to Starbucks after football practice and was hit by a stray bullet, and is now paralyzed. The Coney Island gangs, Fly Ooter Gang, aka FOG, and “Koney Sides” fought against central Brooklyn criminal groups, including Folk Nation, WOOO and Choo. 7 gunshot victims were reported as a result of these shootings. Gonzalez stated, “I think what’s troubling is how trigger-happy these young men appear to be.” Christopher Moore, 21, was leaving a court-mandated supervision meeting at the Center for Justice Innovation when he spotted a rival gang member and waited for everyone to exit the building and begin opening fire.
