Mamdani arrived late in the evening as more than 3,500 residents and families gathered at Turtle Circle on the Midland Beach Boardwalk for the 43rd annual NYPD Patrol Borough Staten Island National Night Out Against Crime. As the mayor made his way to the stage, sections of the crowd erupted in boos, with some attendees shouting for him to leave.

From Big Mouth to Concrete: NYPD Doesn’t Play

FAFO

Man Miraculously Survives Fall After Jumping Naked From Brooklyn Bridge

An unhinged, 44-year-old naked man jumped off the top of the Brooklyn Bridge Sunday afternoon in front of shocked onlookers — and miraculously survived, according to cops and wild video. The nutjob affixed multiple flags at the top of the bridge and “took off clothing” after he scaled the north tower on the Manhattan side of the iconic bridge around 2:30 p.m., police sources said. The NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit tried to convince him to come down, but he leapt instead. “A guy jumped out of the top after getting naked,” an X user wrote while posting video of the disturbing jump. The man appeared to hold a piece of clothing or a bag above his head like a makeshift parachute as he plummeted into the water, the video showed. Quick-thinking Harbor Unit cops rescued the man from the East River. One of the flags was the Kazakh flag, and another was a blanket with random writing on it, althought it’s not immediately clear what it said, according to sources. He was taken to NYC Health+Hospitals Bellevue, where he was listed in stable condition. The bridge’s two suspension towers are roughly 278 feet tall.

Subway Meltdown: Woman Loses It Completely When NYPD Moves In to Arrest Her

NYC

Woman Resists Arrest in New York City, Spits on Officers and Fights Police

Army veteran in custody, accused of starting fire outside NYC federal building

The man accused of setting off fireworks and lighting a fire Monday morning in front of a New York building housing an immigration court and other government offices is a former U.S. Army soldier, an FBI official said. Andrew Arrabaca, who was a mechanic on Patriot missile systems, is in custody and has been interviewed, said James Barnacle, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s New York Field Office. Barnacle said at a news conference that the 43-year-old Arrabaca “came armed with bad intentions” and had various weapons, including a pellet gun, knives, a hammer and a machete. Arrabaca fired five to seven pellets from an airsoft rifle toward the building, he said. “He is an anti-American, anti-government extremist,” Barnacle said. No charges have been announced yet against Arrabaca, and it was not immediately clear if he has a lawyer. As the flames erupted outside an entrance to the building at 26 Federal Plaza, the person was tackled by a security officer and taken into custody, video shows. The lower Manhattan building, 26 Federal Plaza, has become a focal point for demonstrations against the immigration policies of President Donald Trump’s administration.

Suspect shot by police after striking officers with vehicle in the Bronx

Police shot a suspect who allegedly hit multiple officers with a vehicle in the Bronx on Sunday, the New York City Police Department said. It happened near East Fordham Road and Webster Avenue. According to police, around 5:35 p.m., a license plate reader flagged a silver Kia Sportage that had been reported stolen Saturday in the Bronx. The vehicle was first detected traveling through Washington Heights, then flagged a second time about 10 minutes later crossing the University Heights Bridge. Police said NYPD Aviation began tracking the vehicle and notified local community response team units, who were able to locate the vehicle and follow it. Officers saw the driver stop once to drop off a passenger, then when the vehicle stopped a second time just before 6 p.m., police said six unmarked NYPD vehicles surrounded the Kia Sportage. Multiple officers got out of their vehicles, repeatedly telling the driver and a passenger to get out of the car, police said. The driver allegedly reversed the vehicle into an unmarked police car and multiple members of the NYPD, then put the car into drive and drove forward, striking a sergeant, who was thrown to the ground. Police said another officer jumped onto a parked vehicle to avoid being hit. Police said the driver then put the vehicle back into reverse. "With the sergeant on the ground in front of the Kia and multiple additional officers in close proximity to the car, the officer on top of the parked vehicle discharged his firearm at the driver," NYPD Assistant Chief Aneudy Castillo said. The driver was struck at least once in the arm. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Police said the sergeant and multiple officers were taken to local hospitals to be treated for various injuries. All are reported to be in stable condition. Police did not immediately have an exact count of how many officers were injured. The Sergeants Benevolent Association said in a statement, "We are grateful that our Sergeant, who was involved in this incident was not seriously injured and is expected to make a full recovery. Moving forward it is imperative that the Bronx District Attorney prosecute this perp to the fullest extent of the law." Video of the incident was captured on body-worn cameras. The suspect has not yet been identified, but police said he is 18 years old and was arrested in February of this year in connection to a shooting in the Bronx, which he faces felony charges for. A passenger who was in the vehicle was also taken into custody.

Chaos erupted in NYC when a couple got into it with NYPD officers

The woman aggressively confronted them, and within seconds dozens of cops swarmed the scene to regain control.

Black male arrested in Harlem as his daughter screams

He had an active warrant.

NYPD Rescue Suicidal Woman Perched on Brooklyn Bridge Beam

Brooklyn-bound lanes of the bridge were closed to traffic as members of the NYPD’s Emergency Services, called to the scene around 7:30 p.m., climbed the beam to reach her. “For nearly an hour, they stayed with her, spoke with her, and waited for the moment they could safely pull her back from the edge,” Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said in a statement. “Don't do it. Officers responded to a 911 call at Iglesia Bautista El Mesias Church in Ozone Park around 11:35 p.m. about a man allegedly throwing the incendiary device, according to the NYPD.
