The decision came after video showed a man being dragged off a city bus and "practically body slammed" by members of the MTA's Eagle Team after he allegedly threw an elbow and brandished a knife. The incident was described as the latest problematic encounter involving the unit. Kyle Taylor, who was involved in a separate confrontation with the fare enforcement team, said suspending the unit does not go far enough. "Is it justification? No. Because the people that did this to me are just suspended. There's nothing happening to them, but yet I'm hurting every night," Taylor said. Taylor maintains he paid his fare on Oct. 6 when he was stopped in Brooklyn and asked to show proof of payment. He said the confrontation escalated, leaving him unconscious. "If I would have put my hands on them, I would be in jail. Seven years right?" Taylor said. The other violent encounter occurred in the Bronx in August. According to MTA leadership, the incident was not reported to the agency at the time, and officials did not learn about it until Thursday. That prompted MTA Chair Janno Lieber to suspend the Eagle Team's field operations. "I'm not willing to keep our teams active in the field until I know all protocols are being followed," Lieber said. The Eagle Team's role is to combat fare evasion, which the station's investigative team found cost the city nearly $1 billion last year. The MTA said it will review the entire operation. If the agency decides to reinstate the Eagle Team, activists say additional accountability measures are needed, including legislation requiring team members to wear body cameras. "The only thing that the city respects is lawsuit. That's why we filed a $25 million lawsuit," civil rights activist Rev. Kevin McCall said. Taylor said he plans to continue pursuing his case regardless of whether the Eagle Team returns.

Trains Have Officially Become the Jerry Springer Show

NYC

MTA bus driver in Queens shows middle finger after nearly causing an accident

It was stated: This MTA bus driver in Sunnyside was inches away from hitting our car. When we honked because he almost caused an accident, his response was to stick his middle finger out the window. Seriously? These are the people we’re trusting to drive buses around New York City? Almost causes a crash and then reacts like this when called out…
