Manhattan: West 204th Street & Sherman Avenue, several people, including a pedestrian, were injured this morning in the Inwood section of Manhattan. Police said a Corvette was speeding eastbound on Sherman Avenue around 6:30 a.m. when it collided with a Mercedes-Benz near West 204th Street. The Corvette then struck a 34-year-old pedestrian before coming to a stop near a building. The Mercedes continued into a parked, unoccupied moped. The driver of the Mercedes fled the scene and remains wanted by police. The Corvette driver, a passenger, and the pedestrian were all taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. Investigators are looking into whether the vehicles were drag racing before the crash.
