The footage is at the center of a criminal investigation that resulted in Kline being charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with aggravated assault and violation of oath of office. The Greene County Sheriff's Office terminated Kline and requested the GBI investigate after learning he had deployed his Taser on a handcuffed suspect. Kline was arrested by the GBI on July 9, 2025, and booked into the Greene County Jail. According to the GBI, the incident occurred after deputies responded to a crash shortly before midnight on July 6, 2025. Investigators said Allen was arrested for driving under the influence and later transported to St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital for a blood draw. The body camera video shows Allen being questioned by deputies at the crash scene, undergoing field sobriety testing and eventually being placed under arrest. The video then follows Kline as he transports Allen to the hospital. While inside the emergency room, Allen remains handcuffed behind his back and seated in a wheelchair while awaiting treatment. The footage shows Allen and Kline exchanging words throughout the encounter. As the interaction continues, tensions escalate between the two men. Allen remains handcuffed in the wheelchair as Kline repeatedly warns him to stop moving and lean back. Moments later, Kline deploys his Taser.

ATLANTA - A multi-agency manhunt ended Sunday morning when authorities tracked down and arrested a suspect wanted for a shooting that occurred on a transit train at the Midtown MARTA Station on Friday night. Members of the FBI AMMO Task Force, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglasville Police Department, Haralson County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol captured the suspect, identified as Anthony Tyrone Gresham, around 10 a.m. Sunday. The search began after a shooting occurred just after 7 p.m. Friday. MARTA officers patrolling inside the Midtown Station reported shots fired on a train that had stopped at the southbound platform. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in his left arm and leg. Investigators discovered both the victim and the shooter paid their fares to enter the station before heading toward separate railcars. The two individuals made eye contact across the station, prompting the suspect to walk over to the victim's railcar and fire gunshots from the southbound platform, according to a statement released by MARTA police Saturday. A suspect wanted in connection with a Friday night shooting on a transit train at the Midtown MARTA Station has been arrested. Law enforcement officers tracked down the suspect on Lee Road before he ran into the woods, sparking a massive multi-agency search. The suspect faces several felony charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and is currently booked into jail.

Savannah, GA - A Savannah police officer was suspended without pay after an internal investigation into an encounter at Ellis Square. The case drew wider attention after a video of the incident began circulating online, prompting a response from the Savannah Police Department. In a statement shared Monday on Facebook, Police Chief Lenny Gunther said the department had already reviewed the complaint. “We’re aware of the video circulating involving one of our officers and an allegation of improper use of force,” Gunther said. “What’s important for people to know is that while this video is just now making its way around social media, the incident itself happened on March 20.” He said a complaint was filed, an internal investigation was immediately opened, and the inquiry resulted in disciplinary action, including a suspension without pay. Police bodycam shows the moments before and after the use-of-force incident. The officer approach several women as one of them is being placed in handcuffs. The women take issue with the claim that the one in custody is drunk in public. The video shows one of the women briefly putting her hand up, with the officer swatting it away and shoving both women. One of the two women falls completely backwards, with the back of her head coming close to hitting the curb. "She hit my arm, so I shoved her back," the officer is heard saying. "I could arrest her for that." One of the women goes on to ask his name and badge number. Gunther said the case moved through the department’s internal review system as intended. “When our officers fall short of expectations, we take that seriously, and we act,” he said. “Our officers are working in fast-moving, sometimes volatile situations, but that doesn’t change the standard. We hold our people accountable.” He also said the department wants the public to understand there is a formal process for reporting and reviewing complaints against officers. “In this case, that process worked the way it’s supposed to,” Gunther said. The department’s statement did not identify the officer, describe the exact policy violation, or detail the length of the suspension.

Jerry Ross was driving when he pulled up behind a group of 10 cyclists in the road. He began honking and heckling the cyclists, and one of them started filming. Ross then sped around them while laying on the horn and hit 2 of the cyclists, causing minor injuries, before driving away. Ross, when confronted by police about the incident, blamed the cyclists for taking up the road and causing the collision. He was arrested and is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, hit and run, and reckless driving.
