Sheriff's deputies were forced to chase the U-Haul in and out of traffic. Authorities identified the driver as Damian Jones, who was reportedly wanted in other counties and accused of driving recklessly, hitting a truck, and nearly striking several vehicles during the pursuit. Investigators say drugs were found inside the vehicle, and Jones was taken into custody following the crash. No major injuries were reported.

Government preparing to seize homes and land using eminent domain for the construction of a Data Center Georgia

This American’s childhood home is being “taken by force by Georgia Power. The case drew wider attention after a video of the incident began circulating online, prompting a response from the Savannah Police Department. In a statement shared Monday on Facebook, Police Chief Lenny Gunther said the department had already reviewed the complaint. “We’re aware of the video circulating involving one of our officers and an allegation of improper use of force,” Gunther said. “What’s important for people to know is that while this video is just now making its way around social media, the incident itself happened on March 20.” He said a complaint was filed, an internal investigation was immediately opened, and the inquiry resulted in disciplinary action, including a suspension without pay. Police bodycam shows the moments before and after the use-of-force incident. The officer approach several women as one of them is being placed in handcuffs. The women take issue with the claim that the one in custody is drunk in public. The video shows one of the women briefly putting her hand up, with the officer swatting it away and shoving both women. One of the two women falls completely backwards, with the back of her head coming close to hitting the curb. "She hit my arm, so I shoved her back," the officer is heard saying. "I could arrest her for that." One of the women goes on to ask his name and badge number. Gunther said the case moved through the department’s internal review system as intended. “When our officers fall short of expectations, we take that seriously, and we act,” he said. “Our officers are working in fast-moving, sometimes volatile situations, but that doesn’t change the standard. We hold our people accountable.” He also said the department wants the public to understand there is a formal process for reporting and reviewing complaints against officers. “In this case, that process worked the way it’s supposed to,” Gunther said. The department’s statement did not identify the officer, describe the exact policy violation, or detail the length of the suspension.

Drunk Man Shouts N-Word at Black Men on Atlanta Beltline

GA

Man arrested for hitting a group of cyclists after honking and heckling them for taking over the road in Georgia

Jerry Ross was driving when he pulled up behind a group of 10 cyclists in the road. Officers were called to Hawthorne Plaza off Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton at around 6:50 a.m. The front of a Family Dollar and a coin laundry facility had broken front windows and heavy structural damage. Security footage shows two people dressed in all black smashing the back of a U-Haul truck into one of the storefronts, loading the ATM into the back. Police said the suspects removed an ATM from each business but only got away with one. The arrested suspect, 40-year-old Brandon Collier, has a lengthy criminal history involving 43 prior arrests in Chattam County dating all the way back to 2002 for crimes such as aggravated battery, aggravated assault, drug possession, obstruction, resisting, terroristic threats, and cruelty to children. In fact, just months prior to the bus attack, Brandon [music] was arrested for threatening victims while holding an upside down liquor bottle as a weapon in public, which led to him fighting Savannah police officers when they confronted him. For that incident, he was charged with two counts of felony willful obstruction by threats or violence, simple battery, terroristic threats, possession of drugrelated objects, and probation violation. He was able to bond out of jail and was released back into the public. Due to this incident, along with his many prior arrests, the bus sparked public outrage in the area as local officials, including the mayor of Savannah, condemned the attack. Officials from CAD also released statements saying they were deeply disturbed by the attack and that safety protocols would be reviewed and improved following the attack. They have since ordered new safety shields for the CAT buses and are in the beginning stages of upgrading their training for bus drivers. They also announced that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated and have terminated Brandon's rider privileges indefinitely. Following the [music] bus attack, Brandon was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault, two counts of felony aggravated battery, felony exploitation and intimidation of a disabled adult or elderly person, felony [music] second degree criminal damage to property, and two counts of obstruction. In October 2025, Brandon took a plea deal for both the bus incident and the incident where he threatened people with a liquor bottle and fought police. He pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated battery, one count of aggravated assault, exploitation and intimidation of a disabled or elderly person, second degree criminal damage to property, one count of willful obstruction by threats or violence, and terroristic threats, while all other charges were dismissed. Brandon was then sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 years of probation, and was sentenced as a repeat offender, meaning he must serve the prison portion without parole eligibility. The victims, while they both survived, suffered serious and disfiguring injuries to their faces, and multiple of her teeth appeared to be chipped or broken. She and the bus driver were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries. They have made a lengthy and arduous recovery.

Man seen allegedly pushing kids off bikes in Sandy Springs arrested

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - Police have arrested a man after "shocking" surveillance footage captured him aggressively pushing two teenage boys off their bicycles as they rode down a sidewalk in City Springs on Saturday. The video shows a man, identified by investigators as Stephen Catterton, walking along the sidewalk in a blue and cream plaid shirt. As the two teens approach on their bikes, Catterton appears to shove them both. One boy was knocked onto the pavement, while the other was pushed directly into a nearby fountain. Sandy Springs police used the surveillance footage to identify Catterton and located him later that night. Officers intercepted him while he was watching a concert at the City Springs venue and escorted him out in handcuffs. "Pushing kids off bicycles is not only unacceptable; it’s a quick way to meet our officers," the Sandy Springs Police Department said in a released statement. "If Mr. Catterton happens to be your neighbor, you may want to use caution." Body camera footage from the arrest shows Catterton attempting to argue with officers, though his specific remarks were difficult to discern. Officers reportedly told Catterton he could "take that up with a judge." The condition of the two teenagers has not been formally released, though they were seen interacting with authorities following the incident. Catterton’s specific charges were not immediately available.
