CCTV footage shows her calm and appropriately dressed in the first six hours but cuts out at 10am with her appearing half naked distressed and erratic at 11am before being left naked in a urine filled cell for nearly 24 hours. She was transferred under the Mental Health Act and spent five days in a psychiatric ward where she reported the alleged rape and had symptoms including severe rectal pain and bleeding but received no physical examination for the claims. The Independent Office for Police Conduct has completed its investigation and offered to meet her to discuss findings while Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham commissioned an inquiry that led to all 26 recommendations being implemented by the force. Zayna Iman says she simply wanted the missing footage and accuses Burnham of not delivering on any of his promises calling the inquiry a public relations stunt. Greater Manchester Combined Authority said a thorough investigation by the IOPC was the right way forward and confirmed the force has ended welfare strip searches and established an independent panel for accountability.
