A fun-filled festival in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, turned into a tragedy after 18-year-old Gabriela Rodríguez Tezoco died following a fall from a thrill ride known as “El Péndulo,” also called the Loop Fighter. The accident happened on the night of October 20, 2026, during the traditional Cabo San Lucas festivities. Videos recorded by people at the fair reportedly captured the terrifying moments when Gabriela fell from the ride while it was moving. Initial reports indicate that her shoulder-and-torso safety restraint appeared to rise, but investigators have not yet determined exactly what caused the accident. Emergency personnel rushed to help Gabriela, and she was transported by ambulance for medical treatment. Sadly, she later died from her injuries. Following the incident, authorities suspended the ride and ordered safety inspections of the other attractions at the festival. An investigation is underway to determine whether a mechanical failure, a problem with the restraint system, or another factor contributed to the tragedy. The incident has raised serious questions about amusement ride safety as Gabriela’s family, friends, and community mourn her loss. ]]> Fri 23 Oct 2026 08:10:03 +0200 https://theworldwatch.com/videos/1620953/tragedy-in-mexico-18-year-old-woman-dies-after-falling-from-amusement-park-ride/
