A Massachusetts Police Department has charged 17 people from across New England following a comprehensive investigation into a coordinated street takeover that endangered motorists and responding officers in October 2025. The incident occurred early Sunday, October 5th, 2025, when large crowds gathered at the intersection of North Main and Oak streets in Randolph. Vehicles performed drifting maneuvers and donuts in the roadway while participants blocked intersections to allow the stunts. Spectators surrounded the area, many recording videos for social media. When the first officer arrived, his cruiser was quickly surrounded by the crowd, preventing him from entering the intersection. Individuals swarmed the vehicle, striking it and blocking its path. Franklin County deputies are searching for a robbery suspect who remembered his manners. According to a video posted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a man entered the Red Roof Inn on West Broad Street in Prairie Township near Columbus. The video showed the masked man greeting the clerk with a quick, “How ya doin’?” before demanding that they “fill the bag up.” He repeatedly told the clerk to hurry up while holding one of his pockets, which the sheriff’s office said implied he was in possession of a weapon. He told the clerk that he wanted only bills from the cash drawer and from a safe bag that was kept in a slot next to the drawer. The video then showed the man reach across the counter to take the bag of cash before saying, “Thank you.” The clerk then asked the man if he wanted the rolls of coins. “No, I’m good, thank you,” he said before leaving the hotel. “All right, have a nice night,” the clerk said. An adult male employee was found injured and transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries. Detectives say preliminary findings indicate a single suspect fired shots during an attempted robbery before fleeing the scene. No other injuries were reported. ATLANTA, Ga.— Cobb County police are trying to find who is responsible after two shopping center storefronts were smashed in on Thursday morning. Officers were called to Hawthorne Plaza off Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton at around 6:50 a.m. The front of a Family Dollar and a coin laundry facility had broken front windows and heavy structural damage. Security footage shows two people dressed in all black smashing the back of a U-Haul truck into one of the storefronts, loading the ATM into the back. Police said the suspects removed an ATM from each business but only got away with one.
