New Jersey teens stole a $220,000 luxury SUV and joyrode it into a head-on collision that killed a grandmother and her partner. Nayshaun Brown, 18, and 3 other teens who are minors allegedly stole the Mercedes G-Wagon, evaded police, drove it at high speeds on the wrong side of the road, and crashed it into a Hyundai. Robert Barr, Jr., 54, and Alice Stilwell, 67, were the drivers of the Hyundai and were both killed in the head-on collision. According to investigators, three men approached victims on Locust Street while displaying firearms, including what appeared to be an AR-15-style rifle. Police say the suspects took personal belongings, including phones, watches, wallets, keys and cash, before fleeing the area. Authorities say one victim was struck during the incident. A 29-year-old man died Sunday after he was stabbed near the Kroger by Ponce City Market on the Atlanta Beltline, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, police said. His identity has not been released. Police detained 54-year-old Jonathan Hamby in connection with the stabbing. Investigators do not believe Hamby and the victim knew each other. Hamby has been arrested more than 30 times, including in cases involving possession of a knife and aggravated assault, according to records. Police said he is on active probation following an aggravated assault case in Brookhaven. Court records from DeKalb County show Hamby pleaded guilty in 2024 to carrying a weapon within a school safety zone. He was initially sentenced to 10 years, with two years to be served in custody and the remaining eight years on probation, records show. Records show Hamby did not complete required anger management and a mental health evaluation in 2025. Police are searching for two suspects caught on video Friday violently attacking a man who works to serve the homeless in San Bernardino, sending him to the hospital. Greg Medina said he was just relaxing in his jacuzzi when he was assaulted, and the attack was completely random and unprovoked. He’s hoping someone might recognize the suspects to bring them to justice. He didn’t get a good look at them but said he believes they’re either teens or young adults. “I could have lost consciousness or I could have been hurt a lot worse and drowned,” he said. Video shows the suspects approaching Medina while he was sitting in the jacuzzi at the Creekside Village apartments in San Bernardino Friday night. One of the suspects then delivered a hard kick to the back of Medina’s head. “I was listening to the class in earbuds and normally I don’t do that, but this day I decided to, and felt a sharp kick behind my head,” he recalled. “I saw the kids off in the distance, didn’t really pay much attention to them.” The other suspect is then seen in the video reaching down to steal Medina’s phone, which was resting on the concrete. Medina tracked his phone to a neighboring apartment complex and contacted police. “Being that it’s a nice-sized complex with about 30 or 40 units, they couldn’t track it down to a single unit,” he said. It had been a long week. Medina works as a chef to feed the unhoused for Lutheran Social Services, a nonprofit with a location in San Bernardino. “An average morning, I serve about 70, 75 men. I start at 5 a.m., and I usually end about 1, 2 o’clock,” Medina said. He went to the emergency room and learned he had a concussion but, as the only parent who provides for his 12-year-old daughter, he said taking one day off was all he really could do, despite not feeling well. PHILADELPHIA - Alhassane Barry, Philadelphia police officer who was killed Sunday in a double shooting outside an after-hours lounge while off-duty, was laid to rest on Monday. A memorial service for Barry, 29, was held Monday morning at the Fouta Islamic Center of Philadelphia on South 71st Street. Barry will be buried at the Friends South Western Burial Ground in Upper Darby, according to a funeral announcement. Barry, a two-year member of the Philadelphia Police Department, was killed in a double shooting outside an after-hours lounge on the 7200 block of Elmwood Avenue. A second man, 35, was also struck and remains in critical condition. Surveillance video shows the moments before and after the shooting. You can see several groups of people standing on the sidewalk as a police car drives by 7244 Elmwood Avenue. Not even 20 seconds later, a fight appears to break out, then you can see people running and ducking for cover. After the shooting, the video shows an individual who law enforcement sources believe to be the shooter, in a mask, appearing to hold a gun, bend down to possibly pick something up and run away. CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. - Three men arrested in connection with a beating outside a Pooler gas station may have their charges dismissed after Chatham County District Attorney Shalena Jones privately warned Sheriff Richard Coleman that his investigators are making high-profile arrests without sufficient evidence to support prosecution. The arrests of Motreon Williams, Ronnie Scott, and Jimmie Alexander came in February, after a viral video showing the alleged beating caught Coleman’s attention. Coleman documented much of the investigation on social media. The Sheriff’s Office arrested both Williams and Alexander, charging them with party to a crime. Scott was charged with aggravated assault. Once arrests were made, investigators handed the case to the District Attorney’s Office. Internal emails obtained by WTOC Investigates show prosecutors were alarmed by what was missing from the case file. Assistant District Attorney Sara Moorhead contacted lead investigator Trey Conners and outlined ten pieces of missing evidence, including warrants with the actual date of the incident, hospital records, witness identification of the defendants, and — most critically — an interview with the victim. “These should have been done before arrests were made,” Moorhead wrote to Conners. Conners replied that he was “also frustrated with the difficulty in getting lack of cooperation [sic]” and that he was scheduled to meet with the victim, who was in prison, the following week. He said that depending on the outcome of that meeting, dismissal of charges could be an option. Moorhead forwarded the email to District Attorney Jones.
