A chaotic and violent scene unfolded at a busy Santa Monica intersection on Sunday when a man shouting obscenities first chased a couple, then attacked them with his dog. The suspect, identified as Tar Nay, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats. The incident happened around 5:20 p.m. at Broadway and the Third Street Promenade pedestrian mall. Video shared on social media shows the suspect first driving slowly through the intersection while brandishing a baseball bat and yelling at the couple. Moments later, he gets out of the car and chases them while shouting “genocide” and “genocidal.” The couple believes they were targeted because they are Jewish. After the initial confrontation, the suspect returned to his car, then came back with his dog which, according to Santa Monica police, bit the male victim on the thigh. He then got back into the car with the dog and drove away. The victim was treated at the scene for a minor wound. Police say the suspect was yelling at several people in the area and, at this point, they cannot say for certain whether the incident qualifies as a hate crime. They did not share how or where Nay was arrested. Stunning video shows a U-Haul truck damaging parked cars in North Hollywood with a giant broken tree limb that was wedged in the vehicle. It happened along La Maida Street near Lankershim Boulevard over the weekend. The footage shows the wedged tree limb smashing cars and damaging the roadway. The Los Angeles Police Department said the incident appears to have been an accident. It's unclear exactly how many cars were damaged. Police in San Francisco arrested a suspected robber and two people who allegedly fenced the stolen goods, the department said Tuesday. On the evening of May 17, officers were sent to Eddy and Hyde streets on a report of a robbery. They reviewed surveillance footage and a description of the suspect went out; police believe the same man was responsible for a robbery the day before, they said. Officers spotted the suspect and followed him to Golden Gate Avenue and Leavenworth Street, where they viewed surveillance footage of the suspect allegedly talking to two fences, or people who buy stolen property in exchange for cash. Arrested on suspicion of robbery was Tabaris Foster, 21, who was booked into jail on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy, being in possession of stolen property, grand theft, committing a felony while out on bail, failure to appear in court, and a warrant for vandalism. The alleged fencers were Fernando Tezensuruy, 33, and Ronald Escalante Castillo, 26. Authorities Wednesday released video footage of the fatal shooting of an assault suspect who rushed toward sheriff's deputies at the end of a standoff at a home in a rural area near Daley Ranch Park, prompting the personnel to open fire on him. Jonathan Andres Garcia, 22, was mortally wounded when two deputies shot him with their service guns and a third discharged a beanbag shotgun at him in a neighborhood just north of the Escondido city limits shortly before 2 a.m. on April 8, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. Uniform-mounted cameras worn by deputies captured images of the deadly gunfire. At the time of his death, Garcia was carrying a broken pair of scissors in one of his pockets -- a bladed tool he is believed to have used several hours earlier to attack a family member, authorities said. The events that led to the shooting began just after 10 p.m. on April 7, when sheriff's personnel received a report of an assault with deadly weapon at a home in the 11300 block of Reidy Canyon Place, a short distance from where Garcia would be fatally wounded hours later. Witnesses reported that Garcia had assaulted a relative with scissors, sheriff's officials said. Paramedics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of serious stab wounds, including head, ear and eye injuries. Deputies searched the area in vain for the suspect and went to his home in the 26800 block of North Broadway. Garcia was not there, but the personnel found him at another house on the same block a short time later. After deputies evacuated several other people from the residence, they saw Garcia come outside and climb on top of an SUV parked in a front of it, carrying a pair of scissors, according to sheriff's officials. When one deputy ordered him to surrender, the suspect refused, then got off the vehicle and ran back into the house. During the ensuing standoff, deputies tried without success to persuade Garcia to come out with his hands empty and raised above his head. During shouted exchanges through a front window, the suspect claimed to have a gun -- at one point saying it was "under my hat" -- and, when asked if he wanted to stab deputies, replied, "Yeah." Finally, after about 90 minutes, Garcia came outside again, carrying something in his hand, and "began moving toward deputies in an aggressive manner," according to sheriff's officials. At that point, Deputies Michael Carpenter, Tanya Chacon and Alfredo Robles opened fire on him, discharging more than a dozen rounds. Authorities have not specified which of the three fired live rounds and which had the beanbag shotgun. The video footage shows Garcia running across a lawn front of the home and collapsing to the ground as the deputies fire on him. A shard of glass was found near where Garcia fell and was processed as evidence in the case, according to sheriff's officials, who have not disclosed if they believe the suspect was wielding the sharp object as a weapon when he was shot. California Attorney General Rob Bonta's office is heading investigations into the deputies' use of lethal force against Garcia under terms of Assembly Bill 1506, a 2020 law that requires the state Department of Justice to investigate law enforcement shootings resulting in the deaths of unarmed people. VALLEJO, Calif. - A road-rage attack in Vallejo was caught on video, showing a woman pepper-spraying an Army veteran she believed was driving too slow. Cell phone footage taken by the victim shows a woman getting out of a Nissan Altima on Monday morning. "You scared? You should be scared b-" the woman says before she sprayed an orange chemical liquid into the window of the victim's work truck. The caustic chemical landed in both of Joe Vallely's eyes. "Ow!" he repeatedly yells on the video with expletives. "Immediately felt the pepper spray. She was like 2 feet away. She got me directly in the eyeballs," Vallely said on Tuesday. "It felt like someone was sandblasting my eyeballs with glass." "She slammed on her brakes, she forced me to slam on my brakes. And there's cars behind me that almost hit me. I almost hit the lady," he said. And when she came out of her car, he says he began backing up - and never engaged with her. "In the video, I said nothing. I wanted no confrontation. I wanted nothing to do with any interaction.
