MUSD wrote on social media that a staff member from Lincoln Elementary posted those videos. Multiple people reported the content to police, the district. Those two videos show a woman loading a shotgun and pretending to shoot. The same video shows a person loading a magazine into a handgun. A second video has a woman stating she is starting "A black militia" and wants to rob white people. In response, district leaders coordinated with Madera Police to ensure the safety of the staff member and the surrounding community. Authorities conducted a home visit, which resulted in a temporary restraining order and an ongoing investigation. MUSD and the Madera Police Department completed a safety review to enhance security at Lincoln Elementary. The staff members have also been put on leave as the investigation continues.

Woman ready to call ICE on Hispanic family—for using swimming pool

CA

Officers fatally shot Autistic man armed with a knife after he called 911 on himself

Irvine police officers fatally shot an Autistic man armed with a knife after he called 911 on himself Irvine, CA - A 20-year-old man fatally shot by Irvine police during a mental health crisis has been identified as Daniel Alfons Meltvedt of Irvine, authorities announced. Meltvedt called the Irvine Police Department on the afternoon of July 21 and said he was armed with a knife, wanted to harm himself and might harm others, according to an updated account from the department. Police said Meltvedt then left his home carrying a knife and walked onto Sungate near Silkwood. Members of the department’s Crisis Negotiation Team responded and spoke with Meltvedt for more than an hour, repeatedly urging him to put down the knife and surrender so he could receive care. Police said Meltvedt eventually charged toward an officer with the knife raised, prompting the officer to open fire. Officers provided medical aid before Meltvedt was taken to a hospital, where he died. The department said officers had previously responded to several mental health-related incidents involving Meltvedt and connected him with mental health resources after each encounter. Since 2025, Meltvedt had also received follow-up services from Irvine’s Community Alternative Response and Engagement Team, known as I-CARE, which is made up of unarmed crisis intervention specialists, police said. I-CARE personnel and Orange County Fire Authority crews were standing by during negotiations to provide medical and mental health assistance

Black Woman In California Harassed by Her Racist Neighbor

A single Black woman recently bought her first home in Antioch CA. CHP officers encountered the armed man at an encampment along State Highway 185. He was ordered to drop his weapons, but he did not comply. He threatened the officers and walked away. CHP officers followed him before calling Oakland Police for assistance. Oakland Police Officers responded and located the man, believed to be 44-year-old Jose Angel Castillo. Castillo was wielding two homemade weapons, each a long metal pole with a knife attached. OPD officers arrived and immediately gave Castillo commands to drop the homemade weapons. Castillo did not comply. He again threatened officers while continuing to walk away as additional officers arrived on scene. While wielding the homemade weapons, Castillo walked to the sidewalk where a man and two children were crouching down behind a tree. As officers closed on his position, Castillo moved toward the man and two children before continuing north on 41st Avenue. An OPD officer who was equipped with a taser stopped to ensure the man and two children were safely past the officer. Officers gave Castillo multiple commands to 'Drop The Knives,' followed by warnings that force would be used if he did not comply. Officers then continued following Castillo into a shopping center parking lot. OPD and CHP officers deployed their tasers, but they were not effective. Castillo then began swinging the long metal poles with knives attached as OPD officers discharged their service weapons. Officers immediately provided medical aid to Castillo until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, Castillo died at the scene. No other members of the community or officers were injured during this incident.

Man gets street justice after his phone and scooter were STOLEN

California

Rialto officer jumps into action to save choking 3-year-old boy

RIALTO, Calif. -- Dramatic bodycam video shared by the Rialto Police Department shows an officer saving a 3-year-old boy who was choking. Police received a frantic 911 call on Aug. 5 from a mother who said her 3-year-old son was choking on vomit and was not breathing. The mother told dispatchers that she was driving when she realized her son was experiencing a medical emergency. She pulled over in the 300 block of E. Foothill Boulevard and called 911. When officers arrived, they rushed into action, using a LifeVac airway clearance device to clear the obstruction in the child's airway and restore his ability to breathe. Bodycam video shows the boy wake back up after the LifeVac was used. "You OK, buddy? You OK?" the officer asked, comforting the boy. Paramedics with the Rialto Fire Department took the child to a local medical center for further treatment. Officials said the child made a full recovery. Bodycam video also captured the moment the officers were reunited with the boy and his mother at the hospital. "Thank you, officer... thank you. Because I felt my son was dying on me. And he arrived to help me, and that's when he used the LifeVac, and I saw he reacted," the boy's mother said in tears at the hospital.

Chilling new video shows racist stabber’s savage LA Metro attack before life sentence

A racist knifeman caught on newly released video repeatedly stabbing a stranger aboard a Los Angeles Metro bus, then kicking him in the head after he collapsed, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison. Gerald Pitts, 67, of Santa Monica, was sentenced for the attempted murder of Santos Tejas Gonzalez during what prosecutors described as a brutal, unprovoked hate crime on March 25, 2023. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office released the never-before-seen footage Thursday, showing the shocking attack that nearly killed Gonzalez. According to prosecutors, Gonzalez boarded a Metro bus at about 9 p.m. and tried to walk past Pitts to take a seat when Pitts immediately began shouting racial slurs. Rather than confront him, Gonzalez tried to leave the bus at the next stop at Western Avenue and Exposition Boulevard. Even after Gonzalez fell from the bus, the attack continued. Prosecutors said Pitts repeatedly kicked the wounded man in the head while continuing to yell racial slurs. Gonzalez survived despite suffering life-threatening injuries. “A hate crime is more than just a criminal act against one person, it tears at the fibers that hold our community together,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said. “These crimes are meant to intimidate entire communities and weaken the trust that holds us together.” A jury convicted Pitts on June 16 of attempted murder.

Witness Claims Woman Used Racial Slurs and Tried to Steal Scooter Before Altercation

San Francisco

Deputy shot a woman as she reached for a gun. According to the sheriff's office, the deputy was responding to a report of an argument between two women just outside Stockton near North Moon Avenue around 11 a.m. on June 23. As the deputy arrived, he saw a car leaving the area and pursued. Dash cam video from the sheriff's vehicle shows the deputy following the car for a little under a minute before the driver, 46-year-old Erica Lee Johnson, stops at an intersection and allows the deputy to approach. The video then switches to bodycam footage of the deputy walking to the car. The footage shows what appears to be a gun in Johnson's lap, though investigators later determined the object to be an air-powered replica handgun. The deputy points his gun at the driver and tells her not to reach for the weapon. Johnson raises a hand but then lowers it again moments later. The deputy then shoots Johnson. The sheriff's office said Johnson was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He Thought Challenging the Gonza Boxing Union Owner Was a Good Idea

California

Two Officers Nearly Knocked Out in Wild Arrest Brawl at Tequila Restaurant

San Bernardino
