PICO RIVERA, Calif. -- Shocking video captured the moment a man was struck and nearly run over following what appeared to be a parking lot fender bender at a busy Pico Rivera shopping plaza. The chaotic situation unfolded just after 5 p.m. Thursday near Whittier and Paramount boulevards, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The driver of the front vehicle appeared visibly upset and broke off one side mirror from the car behind him. Moments later, as he continued walking nearby, he punched and shattered the vehicle's other side mirror. The driver of the second vehicle then accelerated, striking the man and nearly running him over, according to the video. Sheriff's deputies responded to the incident and spoke with both drivers. Neither driver wanted to press charges, and both apologized to each other. The suspect, whose name was not released, lurked in a parklet before coming up from behind and assaulting her outside Javi's Cooking at the corner of 35th and Market streets at about 8 a.m., according to surveillance video of the incident. On the video, the two can be seen struggling. She tries kicking him. But he pushes her against the roll-up door. She manages to push him away. The woman was taken to a hospital and released later Monday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — At least one person was critically injured after a suspect drove a stolen vehicle onto the Pacific Beach boardwalk, according to the San Diego Police Department. San Diego Police said the incident happened around 12:15 p.m. on the 700 block of Thomas Avenue. Police said the owner of a Tesla called to report their vehicle stolen, telling authorities they were tracking the Tesla from their app. Officers were able to locate the car on Mission Boulevard and initiated a stop. The suspect fled from police, and officers canceled the pursuit shortly before the car drove onto the boardwalk, police added. The suspect hit a 25-year-old woman and a SDG&E transformer before fleeing on foot. The woman was taken to the hospital with major injuries. Police say they are not life-threatening. Police believe the driver was under the influence. Bystanders chased the suspect to a nearby parking lot, got him to the ground, and held him there until officers arrived. Police then took him into custody. Alex Srour was on his bike when the Tesla flew past him. "I just hear somebody scream, Watch out, and I hear, I look behind me, I see a Tesla just flying going like 40 or 50 miles an hour," Srour said. Santa Monica, CA - Body camera video shows the moments before a Santa Monica police officer shot and killed a man who authorities said approached officers with a knife in crowded Palisades Park. The shooting happened on Aug. 22 after police responded to Broadway and Ocean Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. for a report of a man chasing a woman near the Broadway stairs. As officers gathered witness statements in the park, they saw another man holding a large knife above his head, police said. Authorities said the man was not connected to the incident officers were initially investigating. Body camera video shows the man walking toward officers with the knife pointed at them as officers repeatedly order him to drop it. “Hey, put that down! Put that down! Put that down!" an officer is heard repeating on bodycam video before firing shots. Nearby bystanders can be seen quickly moving out of the way as the man approached the officers. Police described the weapon as a large, fixed-blade utility-style knife with serrations along the side. It was one of three knives found on the man as officers investigated the scene, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. Multiple video clips show two to three young men, typically dressed in hoodies with their identities mostly concealed, casually approaching their targets before pelting them with objects or kicking them in a disgusting bid for internet “clout,” victims say.
