An MTA train operator is recovering after being attacked inside a subway station in the Bronx on Friday night. The incident happened around 10:15 p.m. in the East 177th Street-Parkchester station. Police say the 58-year-old victim was advising passengers that the No. 6 train had reached the last stop when he was attacked. The suspect allegedly spat in the victim’s face, then punched him in the face multiple times, knocked him to the ground, and kicked him before fleeing, according to the NYPD. ARLINGTON, Va. — An investigation involving a burst water pipe at George Mason University's Arlington, Virginia, campus has been closed after the person responsible came forward, police said. The incident happened just after midnight on March 23, inside a parking garage at the university's Mason Square campus in Arlington, where a water pipe was damaged and caused flooding. Investigators previously said surveillance video showed someone trying to do a pull-up on the pipe, causing it to rupture. Detroit police say officers were investigating a man who they believed was violating curfew and carrying a concealed weapon. The man ran into a house and officers chased after him. Multiple officers ran into a group of people who were in the home, which eventually led to a scuffle, with police shoving and pushing into the home pursuing the suspect. During the chaos, a man in a blue shirt was placed in handcuffs while officers continued to enter the home. Police say he was arrested for obstructing police. He is not the individual that police were originally pursuing when they entered the house. Officials say they are conducting an internal investigation regarding the officer’s actions. They then began calling us racial slurs and referring to us as ‘dirty Mexicans,’ and were threatening to call ICE on us to have us all deported.
