When police moved in to speak with two men, they allegedly ran, triggering a foot pursuit through the area. The chase ended when officers deployed a taser and arrested a 43-year-old man, who police allege was armed with two knives. New South Wales Ambulance paramedics assessed the 43-year-old at the scene before he was taken to hospital for further assessment under police guard. A 32-year-old man was also arrested. A hero nurse who has spent more than a decade training in jiu-jitsu was forced to use his martial arts skills to overpower an "abusive" patient. Shocking CCTV footage captured the moment registered nurse Daniel Nelson wrestled the man to the ground after the patient appeared to lash out at him. The clip was filmed in the early hours of the morning at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in Brisbane, Australia. It shows Nelson escorting an intoxicated man out of the emergency department before the patient appears to turn on him. The man appears to throw an object at Nelson before charging at him and allegedly throwing several punches. But the nurse quickly turns the tables, using his jiu-jitsu skills to overpower the man and wrestle him to the ground. Nelson then restrains him until security arrives to assist. The nurse said the confrontation happened in an area where there was no visibility from staff or security. Sharing the footage online, he said: "This is what many people never see." Nelson claimed the patient had been "spitting on the floor, abusing staff and generally behaving like an absolute grub" before being asked to leave. A manhunt is underway after a man violently assaulted two women near Melbourne’s Chinatown. The assaults occurred at separate massage parlours near Chinatown on Thursday, July 9. The same man was later spotted at the Paramount Retail Centre, near the corner of Exhibition and Little Bourke streets. Victoria Police said it had launched an investigation after being made aware of the incident on Tuesday. "Police are aware of two assaults in the Melbourne CBD on 9 July," a police spokesperson said. "Investigators have observed vision depicting an unknown man entering a Little Bourke Street business just after 4pm and assaulting a female staff member. "The same man then entered a different business on the same street around 5pm and assaulted another female staff member." Footage has been shared on social media in an attempt to identify the individual. “A man violently assaulted female staff members at two different massage parlours in Melbourne, approximately 40 minutes apart. He punched the women in the head,” the post states. “This is not a ‘walk-out’ or petty dispute - this is straight-up violent crime,” the social media post said. “This behaviour is completely unacceptable. No one - especially women working in service roles - should ever have to fear being punched in the head at their place of work.” The footage shows a man talking to a woman across a counter before walking around and repeatedly punching the woman. He then appears to stomp on her before walking towards the door. The second half of the video shows the same man entering a different massage parlour before punching a second woman. The woman then flees through a side door, which the man then kicks. The man was wearing a red hoodie underneath a black or navy blue jumper with "Australia" written on the front. Sarah Hill, from Townsville, Australia, was cleaning out her car as her 2-month-old baby, Cali, slept in the car seat in her driveway when a juvenile ran up and stole her car with Cali still inside the vehicle. The thieves, who had stolen a total of 7 cars, returned minutes later, dropped Cali off in her car seat on the sidewalk, and then took off again. A graphic video circulating on social media tonight is sparking sharp debate after it captured what appears to be a group of men beating a man to the ground near the intersection of Post Road and US-1 in Melbourne, outside a Veterans of Foreign Wars post. The video was posted by witness Johnny Woodring, who said he was passing through the area on a mini bike when members of the group stopped him and asked if he had seen a Black man running from the area. Woodring said no and continued on, then watched as the group got into a vehicle, drove down the road, and attacked a shirtless man walking in the area. Woodring says he began recording approximately 15 seconds into the beating. The attackers allegedly justified targeting the man based on dry blood visible on his legs. The victim denied any involvement and was heard screaming that he was innocent. But a commenter identifying herself as having knowledge of the original incident offered a different perspective, claiming a disabled 22-year-old man had been jumped outside the VFW earlier in the evening by homeless individuals who beat him, broke his glasses, stole his iPad and radio, and sent him to the hospital. She says the veterans came out looking for those responsible. If accurate, the man beaten on video may have been wrongly identified. Multiple people recorded the incident. Melbourne Police responded to the scene. It is not yet known whether any arrests were made.
