A 21-year-old man remains in hospital in a serious condition after reports of a disorder on Foundry Lane, Smethwick last night (26 May). A 19-year-old man and two 18-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of wounding and remain in police custody. Officers attended the scene just before 9.30pm where there was a large gathering. They are carrying out CCTV enquiries and speaking to witnesses and are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We’re aware of footage being posted on social media and would ask people to not share this as we work through our investigation." An Indian woman from Gujarat was shot dead during a suspected robbery attempt at a supermarket in the United States, her family has confirmed. The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Meghnaben Patel, who had been working at the supermarket in Virginia for the last 10 years. Meghnaben hailed from Jantral village in Visnagar taluka of Mehsana district in Gujarat. Her parents, Karsanbhai Patel and Kapilaben, live in Jantral. After receiving information about the incident, local police immediately reached the spot, cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Special teams have also been deployed to arrest the attacker. CCTV footage from the store shows a man wearing animal-print pants and a grey jacket entering the nearly empty supermarket with his face covered. He then walks towards the counter and is seen speaking to the woman. A few moments later, the unidentified man pulls out a gun from his pocket and shoots her. The disturbing video shows the woman collapsing after being shot. The attacker then climbs over the counter and continues firing at her. Five people are facing charges after a courthouse brawl was captured by surveillance cameras Wednesday morning in Boston, Massachusetts. The video shows multiple people walking in the hallway at Dorchester District Court before one person rushes over to punch another, and the brawl ensues. Boston Police said its officers were alerted to the fight, and by the time officers arrived, the fight was over, with law enforcement from multiple agencies still attempting to separate the involved individuals. The five suspects were then moved to the courthouse holding area, according to Boston Police. That’s when officers say one suspect kicked another while handcuffed, before attempting to spit on him. Boston police said the spit missed, and an officer was spat on instead. Those arrested range in age from 17 to 20 years old.
