DONORA, Pa. — A Pennsylvania resident is calling attention to an incident between a man and a police officer after sharing video of their encounter. The situation began with a call to Donora police about a domestic disturbance report. The video shows Shawn Bowman sitting in a chair as an officer tries to handcuff him after officers were called to his home for the alleged domestic disturbance. In the video, Bowman moves his hand toward the officer’s hands. The officer then punches him in the face twice and uses a Taser. Bowman falls to the ground. In the criminal complaint, the officer wrote that after he used the Taser, he repeatedly ordered Bowman to get on the ground and put his hands behind his back before he complied. Donora police were asked whether they were aware of the video. Two police officers walked into a 92-year-old man’s bedroom and gave him a choice: pepper spray or a Taser. He was sitting in a wheelchair. Donald Burgess was an amputee with dementia living in a care home in St Leonards-on-Sea, England. He’d threatened staff with a dinner knife, but a senior police official later admitted he was alone in his room and posed no risk to anyone. Instead of calming him down, the officers pepper sprayed him, hit him with a baton, and Tasered him. He went to the hospital, caught Covid, and died 22 days later. The two officers were cleared of assault in court but have now been fired for gross misconduct and banned from policing. I back the police 100%, and that’s exactly why officers like these have to go. EDMONTON — Fans at an Edmonton Oilers game were removed from Rogers Place on Tuesday after reportedly waving an Alberta flag. A video circulating on social media Wednesday shows at least two young adult males being approached by Edmonton Police Service officers while seated. It shows officers speaking with the males, who, along with other fans, claim they did nothing wrong after allegedly waving an Alberta flag, though the flag or any lead-up is not shown. The incident escalated to the point where officers forcibly removed the males.  Warning: the video below contains profanity. Rogers Place's Safety and Security Guidelines prohibit... "Signs, Flags, or Banners exceeding 11” x 17” or attached to a pole/stick. Signs must be relevant to the event. Signs may not contain or display obscene or offensive language and/or pictures as determined by Rogers Place Management." The guide also states that "Management reserves the right to prohibit or remove a sign or banner at any time."
