A Teen Stabs Three at the Ottawa Mall, Killing One

An 18-year-old man has been charged by the Ottawa Police Service homicide unit in connection with a stabbing death at the St. Laurent Shopping Centre Friday afternoon. Mohamed Osman, 18, has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of breaching release conditions, police said in a release Saturday afternoon. He was taken into custody by police overnight. First responders were called to the east end mall at about 4:35 p.m. Friday after witnesses reported a multiple stabbings. In total, three men were wounded. One of the victims, Marcus Maloney, 19, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased in hospital. The two other victims suffered stab wounds but the wounds were not considered life-threatening. The wounded victims were not identified.
